Decision have been made for both teams...

Locker wins that job over Matt Hasselback... and Tannehill beats out Moore (who was poor) and Garrard who looked good, but then had a knee scoped....

I knew Locker would get that job.Hes gonna be scary in this division.

He might be scary good... but he also might be scary bad....

He was terrible in pre-season week #2. Terrible. But, they've invested in him and want to see what he's got.

Locker is a bit of an odd duck. He's got every tool imaginable and then some. And yet the sum of his parts never seem to add up to great QB play. Not in college. And so far, not in the pros. He hasn't shown that he can put it all together...

He could be anywhere from very good.... all the way down to very bad.... a big range. And if I'm a Titans fan, I'd be a bit nervous about all that...

I think the Tannehill decision was made from fan/media pressure. I thought the guy was supposed to be a "project." Whatever. We'll see how he fares in his first game, which happens to be against one of the best defenses in the NFL. Locker I expected...I even predicted the Titans would choose him...He should be interesting to watch. I really like this decision because in a way it could be bad or good for the Titans...but I'm leaning more towards bad lol.

Eh. Good luck with that Tennessee. I don't think Locker will never be an elite NFL passer, he wasn't even an elite PAC-12 passer. His fans go ballistic when people say he's inaccurate and will pull out all kinds of flowcharts and spread sheets to argue it, but the kid will have Titans fans pulling their hair out... Great play followed by inexplicably off target incompletion, amazing play followed by boneheaded decision. Rinse wash repeat. Maybe they can hit up some UDub fans and see if they can borrow their .xls templates. If they're going to spend the next 3 years defending this kid, they're going to need them.

Tannehill had many things go his way...

1st, David Garrard looked very good, and then got hurt on a freak play.

2nd, Matt Moore is a good game player, but terrible practice player. So far, he's looked poor in both.

3rd, Tannehill is running the system he had in college with the same Coach, Mike Sherman who was his HC and is now his OC.

4th, To the kid's credit, he's picked things up quickly.... but how will he look in the regular season.... big difference...

How good is he? We're about to find out....

Poor Garrard...nothing ever seems to go his way. I forgot about Mike Sherman, that is another huge factor. You're right. We'll see how he fares in the regular season.

I was going to start a thread on Locker. Wondering what peoples opinions were of him. I think this is a knee jerk reaction to what is going on around in the division. I think Tennessee is a playoff team with Hasselback starting. With Locker I don't think so...probably a 7-9 team. I think the organization looked and saw that Luck looks real good. Gabbert looks improved and they are panicking a bit. I think they knew Locker was a 2-3 year project but has the capabilities to be real good. I think Hasselback is the superior qb right now and could lead them to a playoffs but I think the organization is worried that in a year Locker is going to be playing catchup to Gabbert and Luck in the division when it is time for him to play. I think they thought they were going to have more time to bring him along and when Peyton retired they would be set to have a dominant qb. Things change quickly and I think they are rushing the him. It might work out for them but I think they are jeopardizing this season and a good quality year of Hasselback to insure they don't fall too far behind the developing qbs in this league. We shall see.

Tannenhill desearves to start based on his play...but I think they are rushing him. I thought they might bring him in after the playoffs were out of reach say like around Week 12....could be a long season for the Dolphins. Top 5 pick I think.

    • AR is on the McAfee show. He just said he is 100% and has never felt better. Then he went on to say, opposing teams haven't seen nothing yet once JT and I lineup in the backfield!
    • I have read numerous scouts and they had him ranked as the  #3 WR in the draft based on talent. I loved the pick but let's not fool ourselves, there is something that made him drop to the 2nd. I am not going to say it is character and/or lack of production. Ballard can go on his rant all he wants, but there was a reason. If he succeeds and becomes a legit #1, then we will wont care. My guess is if he fails to live up the hype, then we  it will leak out why he never reached his full potential. At this point, I couldn't care a less, as I loved the pick at the time and it was the Colts taking a chance with some questions about Mitchell. The one thing I did not like was Ballard going on his rant is he should have just kept quiet and said we like he player. Him going on a rant leaves him open to criticism if for example Mitchell does not work out and say it comes out that he has a poor attitude, work ethic etc.
    • Actually,  I don't think you can really say who is the #2. I think, they actually want Pittman to be relegated to that role as they are hoping that Mitchell or Pierce can finally assume that take the top of the defense  #1 wr.  I don't put to much stock in Mitchell unseating Downs as they play to different positions. Downs is the slot and Mitchell is hopefully that legit #1 that the Colts have never had. So in saying, Mitchell will not be unseating Downs, as they will be asked to do different things. I think the Colts are just hoping to have that legit #1 guy and then everyone else can play the role they were drafted for. If Mitchell or Pierce break out, you will see the ball spread out to the remainder of the WR's and TE's.
    • Keep in mind, with drops, it has always been very subjective to whether it was a “drop” or not. Which is why the rates vary so much
    • That is about how much I heard he might get. I am glad it is over and we are not waiting for the other shoe to drop (leave in FA or choose not to play).   Now, all the pressure is on him to perform
