I like Gant. Found out about him through the Shrine Bowl.

Yeah, there are a couple of late round LBs I think could be decent coverage LBs... eventually lol.

Dallas Gant and Edefuan Ulofoshio.

Are we giving up on woods? Isnt he coming back from injury?

No, but if you can draft a blue chip player you take them unless you have a bonefied starter and Woods isn’t yet. Plus woods and Bowers can be on the field at the same time

I think they play the same position. The receiver te. Granson plays the inline guy role. I hate spending a 1st on a te.

Mitchell to me and it’s not really close.

Several things I’ve heard lately really resonated  with me.

1) Venturi talking about the need for an outside the number playmaker - that is not Bowers.

2) Venturi raving about Mitchell

3) I’ve also read about scouts wondering about size and strength of Bowers.

4) I think more highly about the Colts current TE roster than most.

I could be wrong but this but to me the decision is easy.

He looks like an awesome talent

I would be happy with that pick

I think Bowers will be picked before 15 anyway.   I think he will be an amazing talent, but for the Colts he will play the big slot role.
We have a really good slot receiver today that will need to be used sparingly if we were to take Bowers.

just something to think about

IF they pick Mitchell it should mean that they will have some options and wrinkles that our DC can employ to keep the offense guessing, not the same same zone defense we see.

Anything can happen but there is a certain economy that you can get with this

zone defense

If you have a dynamic FS you can actually play with slower bigger CBs

These CB prospects can be extremely successful had in rounds 2-3

I like Mitchell because he is big and fast

He can play zone or press

I am just wondering if Ballard will use our top pick on this position

I personally believe that championship teams have 3 elements

1) franchise QB

2) Excellent LT

3) Game changing DE

Thats why these 3 positions are a priority and why the great ones cost so much

WAY too early, but I believe we are on the way with 2 of 3

Our QB and LT

The 3rd element that is missing for a top team is a game changing

DE

This team also is way short on explosive WR as well

I personally see us going after DL or WR with the pick, but again

not unhappy with Mitchell

Before we signed Raekwon Davis (and re-signed Tyquan), I thought we'd go DT in the 1st round.  The Dline looked like cheeks when Grover was out...and we all know Ballard likes his trench guys.  I think having those guys in the room with everyone else returning gives the team the green light to go after other positions IMO.

I think Bowers and Mitchell are gone right before we pick.  With tons of freak athletic 1st round talent grades on several premium positions, I think there's a great potential for a trade down and still acquire a highly rated guy and pick up extra picks.  The DB from Iowa or Alabama, or the smaller WR from Texas.

With that said, I can see Ballard going DE to shock us all.  If Dallas Turner falls with all of the QB's, OT's, and WR's dominating top 10....Ballard would be drooling for him.

I would put some money on the fact neither of these players will end up being there at 15, but in this scenario they have both fallen and I have also won the lottery.

Mitchell is a stud, if he wasn’t a small school prospect he wouldn’t get out of the top 5-7 picks. In my opinion he is ahead of Wiggins and had one of the best pre draft processes. Dude can ball and I don’t think there is any doubt, in my eyes he may be the best DB to come out since sauce.

Bowers is a stud and no doubt a blue chip prospect who if he falls it will only be because of his position. He’s been touted as one of the best TE’s the past 2 seasons and I absolutely feel like he’s lived up too it. A little strength training and work with blocking and he will be a complete tight end.

Both guys can be difference makers on our team. Which one are you going with?

If Brock as sliding down, I would have all the faith in another team that they would trade up to 14 and make the pick in front of the Colts lol. Ballard loves his picks and he would just sit there watching Bowers drop and refuse to make a move.

I’d add Jaylon Carlies and Jordan Magee.

Brock Bowers. Surrounding Anthony Richardson with as much talent as possible is my number one focus right now.

U know I really want us to go defense as  I feel talent is sorely missing on defense. I hope this draft is on e that  Ballard just picks the best football player. I'm watching Bowers on tape, and he is just a great football player. I think he is going to be a nightmare to guard in the NFL. I almost think he is going to be more of a problem than MJH and Nabors when it comes to how to match personal. His YAC is just ridiculous.

I wouldn't be mad if Ballard traded up to pick Bowers. He is a game breaker TE. With Woods still being an unknown it would be a smart move imo.

Just imagine having both Bowers and Woods on the field at the same time? Mercy lol

    • Titans are a poor team.  I expect the Colts will take care of business and get to 3-3.
    • Opposing team average passer rating is a great stat in today's league, because it shows how hard your defense is on opposing QBs, which is an enormous piece of the defensive puzzle.  Colts are 28th at 105.5, which is a terrible average performance to give up.   Also points allowed tends to follow how good your defense is or isn't vs QBs.  Which means, predictably, the Colts are ranked 24th and solidly in that bottom third of the league.   On the plus side is the turnover margin of +.2, which puts them in the top half of the league.  Looking at takeaways, they are T-8th at 1.6 per game.  Of course that means that unfortunately giveaways they are 22nd at -1.4 per.   Translation here is they need to improve in the secondary, few if any will be safe with those types of numbers.  But also being safer with the ball on offense would help too.
    • I have no worries about AR and this offense. That is the one part of this team I have no concerns about.
    • Whenever a new GM comes in the HC who is in place will feel that.  Just not being his selection to run the team and all that.   But I think this coach has done a good job with the offense overall.  He put up an 11th ranked offense in scoring last year with fumes at QB.  And his current QBotF is looking like a guy who will need to run to move the chains.  So I expect he is safe this offseason, and if the owner is angry about the QB they took the GM will own it.    From there I expect he's going to need a QB to put up a consistently high end offense.  But there is still time for this one to develop so we'll see.
    • If you're not sold on Pierce by now I have to question your judgment.  Pierce does block when he is called upon to do so. What you call a one trick pony is the Colts receiver that takes the top off.  That in turn opens up the other receivers.  I do not understand your opinion.
