probably is for the best. but i like to see our players succeed.

Yeah a part of me is mixed. I can't believe we gave up a 4th and 20 then a 2 to lose. I have seen it all now. Only time in my Colts fandom since 1984 that I didn't care if we won or lost was in 2011 because I knew Luck was coming out in 2012. It wasn't until we were 0-8 though were I didn't care.

agreed. I hope my fandom never gets to the point of rooting for a loss.

All about perspective. Some can see the bigger picture. We all still want what’s best for the Colts. Those happy today are so because it improves our draft slot which is more important going forward  than a meaningless win today in an already lost season.  Black Monday tomorrow. Fingers crossed that Colts get involved. Let the purging begin. Time to get to work in trying to fix this big mess.

Okay gurls and guys, this has been a humuiliating and wild season for us.

We shall see how the draft will go. Since I don1t know the prospects well enough, I have no idea who would help us at QB (if we draft a QB at all). Drafting a QB is always tricky, as a prospect may be proven to be gold...or bust. And anything between. There are no prospects like Luck was, so I'm not sure we will find a franchise QB caliber guy this year, or next. I hope we will...

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLTS!

If anyone can tell me why are our starters still in the game? Why are players paid 50-100M in a game that we have zero interest in winning?

We tried to win, just as the Texans did - these are players & coaches who have pride, and are unconcerned about their respective team's draft position in April.

Yeah, Texans probably shouldn't have made it known about Lovie leaving with the Bears in position for the 1. This game was basically an audition for the 2023 season with other teams.

    • Pierce has been better this year so far than last as he is making the catches he did not always make last year. If he continues, I will back off my stance as it would be warranted that I would be wrong about him. The one trick pony is only thrown out as I would like Pierce to open his route tree a little more and become more than just the guy who takes the top off. Hill used to be just that as an example, a deep threat guy, but he honed his entire tree and became elite. Will Pierce ever become Hill, probably not. However, I still would like to see more out of Pierce so his target share command would increase where he would be utilized all over the field.   Time will tell
    • Titans are a poor team.  I expect the Colts will take care of business and get to 3-3.
    • Opposing team average passer rating is a great stat in today's league, because it shows how hard your defense is on opposing QBs, which is an enormous piece of the defensive puzzle.  Colts are 28th at 105.5, which is a terrible average performance to give up.   Also points allowed tends to follow how good your defense is or isn't vs QBs.  Which means, predictably, the Colts are ranked 24th and solidly in that bottom third of the league.   On the plus side is the turnover margin of +.2, which puts them in the top half of the league.  Looking at takeaways, they are T-8th at 1.6 per game.  Of course that means that unfortunately giveaways they are 22nd at -1.4 per.   Translation here is they need to improve in the secondary, few if any will be safe with those types of numbers.  But also being safer with the ball on offense would help too.
    • I have no worries about AR and this offense. That is the one part of this team I have no concerns about.
    • Whenever a new GM comes in the HC who is in place will feel that.  Just not being his selection to run the team and all that.   But I think this coach has done a good job with the offense overall.  He put up an 11th ranked offense in scoring last year with fumes at QB.  And his current QBotF is looking like a guy who will need to run to move the chains.  So I expect he is safe this offseason, and if the owner is angry about the QB they took the GM will own it.    From there I expect he's going to need a QB to put up a consistently high end offense.  But there is still time for this one to develop so we'll see.
