Physicality and speed

Judging by what Ballard is doing in his first few years as GM, his players

appear to be more physical in areas and more fast in others.

He appears to like physical players on the O line, strong safety

and a mix of physicality and speed at DT, TE and WR.

It appears he likes speed more at the RB, DE, linebacker, cornerback and

the free safety position.

What's your opinion of the make up of the positions on the roster?

Edit: before I get flogged, linebacker is a speed/physical position.

What’s your definition of physicality?

I think CB likes "physicality" more than speed since none of CBs are considered speedsters

Ballard said the Scout for Leonard stood up big for him regarding his toughness.
I believe he meant mental and physical.

If they can't project that, i don't believe you will on his draft board.

Line play takes tons of it.

And i think building his roster will always look to improve physicality and speed.
Top priorities for this draft i think is at DT, LB, S.
And i expect DT, S, T, LB in our 1 st 4 picks. Or something else.  :spit:

It appears for the majority of the roster, but a few positions he

looks for speed more often than being physical.

Agreed, but after the 2 first picks, I would not be surprised at a CB taken if the value is hard to pass. I can't remember a season where corner depth hasn't hurt us at least some.

I'm not sure if I understand this response.  You listed cornerback as one of the positions in which you think Ballard puts a premium on speed.  I was just pointing out that I think for the cornerback position Ballard puts more of a premium on physicality because none of the corners on the roster are considered speed guys.

I was speaking of edge, RB and free safety since you pointed out the corners

being a bit slower.
