It's ok. I don't think I would take Nick Chubb before Sony Michel and I'm not a fan of Washington. I'd take Michel/Taven Bryan at 37 ad Isaiah Oliver at 49 personally. It also would be tempting to pair Nelson with Wynn or Hernandez.

 

As an aside, does Denver still run a 3-4? I think Bradley Chubb is much more valuable in a 4-3 but Denver may just say "to heck with it" and draft him as BPA and make it work. I hope they value a DB like Ward more though, selfishly.

Replace Chubb with Michel, and Washington with CB Carlton Davis for round 2.

 

Then replace Jackson with WR Michael Gallup and it’s a great draft.

Mock drafts just look so much better when Nelson isn't the first pick.

 

Drafting Nelson first is sort of akin to a fantasy football draft where you pick a QB first. It is typically a safer pick and it won't "hurt" you. But the rest of your draft won't look nearly as strong if you waited some rounds later to draft QB.

My mock based on the players that he has available at the time would be:

1.  Edmonds

2. Evans; Bryan; Oliver

3. Smith (G, Auburn)

4. Freeman

5. Warner

 

Not a deep WR draft, so I would focus on getting help there through FA especially after June cuts and taking some flyers in the later rounds

If all the players were actually available in the places he had them and this was our draft I would be very disappointed with Ballard.
