Getting ready to watch my Yankees in game #2.

Enjoy!

Did you see the Centerfield video that Southwest put up? The Yankees greats of the past are prominently shown. I love the part showing Yogi arguing that he tagged out Robinson.

Wainwright and Arrieta for the Cards and Cubs. I have Arrieta in Fanduel tonight, so I trust him. Odorizzi for the Rays and Sabathia for the Yanks I believe.

Was a bit of an injury filled day yesterday. Synndergard and Felix got hurt. Junior Guerra is on crutches after limping from a Sac Bunt. A person was saying it could be an achilles tendon injury and it looked similar to the wainwright injury.

Lots of good pitching performances from Thor, Teheran, Keuchel, and Kershaw. Verlander had a good one today vs the White Sox as well. Hope some people show up tonight!

Hope it wasn't the Achilles  , Wainwright just now back to normal with his leg.

Through 6 Innings 2-1 Cubs. Pretty solid outing for Jake so far, 6 K's too. The Cards are starting to get to him though. 3 more Innings to go. It would be nice to get an insurance run, Bryant nor Rizzo has done anything tonight. They are due.

That was scary, lol. The thing with baseball is, you are never due. They could start out 0/50 if they hit poorly. You just have to bat well. They are .300 hitters, but that doesn't guarantee when it will happen. Could use it in the next few innings as you said.

    • Ballard was right to trust Raimann with the LT position. He’s been of our best players these past 3 weeks.
    • Yes but you should look at the way the D played situationally though, it shouldn't be dependent totally on the offense to me. Let me explain.   4th qtr. of Jaguars game, the D didn't make the stop and limit the Jaguars to a FG, down 21-24. Flash forward to this game. It was not like Minshew and the O was keeping possession to dominate it (it was 36-32 overall in TOP) to keep them fresh. YET, the D was scrappy and did not allow the game to get away. They could have, but they didn't. That is why the O stayed in the game and was able to win it for us.    All those years with Peyton, that was always my complaint with the Colts D. Ravens with Flacco, Steelers with Big Ben, Patriots with Tom Brady, it didn't matter if their QB turned it over, their D was scrappy, blitzed and made it hard for the other team to cash in on a mistake by the offense. However, with Peyton's D, we were soft in a lot of big games, except for 1 AFCCG where we made stop after stop to give Peyton the ball back enough times to make a dent. Having said that, when the D kept making stop after stop in the 2008 Chargers Sproles playoff game, Peyton and the O underwhelmed in important moments. Football is truly a complementary game.   Giants shutting down the Patriots' offense when it mattered most, in a low scoring SB to prevent their perfect record or shutting them down in the 2011 SB in Indy in the entire 4th qtr. when it mattered most or the Patriots' D doing the same (shutting down the O) vs Seahawks in 2014 SB 4th qtr. and Falcons in 2014 SB 4th qtr. are perfect examples of the D keeping the O alive in the game till the QB can give them a good drive or two.   The Colts just played a thorough complementary game vs the Ravens last Sunday, like the scrappy Ds I have always yearned for, seeing the Ravens and Steelers over the years. That is the part I am most proud of. Can they reproduce that scrappiness over the course of the year, despite the O going through lulls at times? That will determine a lot.

    • I don't know if this makes sense but when a defense looks like they have more players on the field vs the offense, its always been a  sign of a good defense. They swarm to the ball. The Colts defense meets the eye test in that.
