Some clutch plays all around, not just the touchdowns. I believe he had a nice jumping grab in the fourth quarter on a third down.

I remember reading about how the Colts didn't have anyone behind Dwayne Allen and that it was a weak group. I had no qualms coming into the season with Doyle as our #2. Dude simply gets it done.

I like Doyle & i liked Swoope in the preseason he kinda reminds me of Marcus Pollard .

I was thinking last year Doyle was a better all around TE & Goldylocks Fleener . 

 

So when we let Fleener go i thought so what the Colts will be just fine I'm really pretty happy with our receiving core .

There were a lot of people who laughed when I said during camp to expect Doyle to excel in his expanded role this year. Many were concerned we had nothing behind Allen. Doyle's scouting report coming out of WKU was that he was a receiving TE. I posted that report on the board numerous times. His weakness was his blocking.

 

Sunday was no fluke Doyle will continue to cash in on his chances. He doesn't have to worry about Swoope as some suggested he is clearly our TE2. I think he might be asked to do more blocking vs Denver.

Doyle can catch and that is good. He can run flat routes and sit in short zones. But he is not a vertical threat, especially against coverage LB'ers or safeties. In other words he's no Gronk, or Grahm or not even Fleener in that respect. But he can block and run short patterns. 

I think he will be targeted more in red zone like last week.
