Not having looked at it yet, I would say thats one spot too high. My top 4 are:

New Orleans

Denver

Kansas City

Indianapolis

Will look when I get the chance though.

I'm sure the Colts will be as high as 4 or 5 with some, but they have defeated SF and Seattle. Nice resume.

Who has kc beat?

Tennessee. They also have the best looking D line in football and an offense that plays virtually mistake free. I believe in that and an umdefeated record more than I do the Colts defense.

Its close though, I can see an argument for how Indy's offense is good enough to compensate for how good KC's defence is. Im on the record here of being on that bandwagon though, so YMMV.

I hate to say it, but I might slide NE in at 4 although they have had a weak schedule. They finally played a decent team and got beat with no TDs yesterday. On second thought I would give the COLTS the # 4  slot.

Yesterday was a major statement win.  The Colts have now beaten the two teams that many felt were the Super Bowl favorites out of the NFC.   They are no longer the feel good story of a team that won 11 games for their coach fighting cancer.  They are viewed as a legit contender.  I will also say with the Broncos coming to town in two weeks NBC would love the chance to be able to bill that game as a match up of not just Manning vs his old team in the house he built but as the best two teams in the AFC.

Sorry to slide this in here, I don't know how to start a new thread.  Is it fair to say Romo is a choker after yesterday?

No not really, plus i guess that question would be a subject for NFL General. 500 yards and 5 td's should always win you a game. The guy played great, I'm no fan of his, but to call him a choker, based on that game is absurd.

Sure do wish the Miami game went the other way.

I do agree with you. I saw the question on espn  sports nation. I'm not a fan of Romo either

A little bit to high. If ranked 5 or 6 that would be a better spot for us in my opinion. Can argue KC is better (Barely), Denver is better (By a decent margin), Saints are better (Decent margin again) and the Dolphins and Patriots can give us a run for our money.

For some reason I can't open the link you posted, the Power Rankings I see on Bleacher Report have us at 6. Up from 14 last week.

I guess it depends on the "featured columnist" on Bleacher Report. I just found another one with Bleacher Report that has Seattle at 3 and Colts at 7 even though the Colts defeated them.

KC better or just has a better record?

I am not sure how to feel about KC myself.  5-0 is 5-0 but look at who they have played.  You can argue their best win is over the Titans yesterday with a back up QB.  They are taking advantage of a last place schedule that is for sure.  I need to see them against some better teams before I completely buy into them as being a legit contender but I do think they are going to the playoffs this year.

The Pats have been squeaking out wins against the garbage of the NFL. No way they should be ranked in the top 5.

Curious to see where SI, NFL and ESPN, etc. put the Colts. I didn't realize Bleacher Report posted multiple Power Rankings. That's a little goofy. I realize the rankings are somewhat subjective, but you think they would at least agree to posting a unanimous opinion/ranking.

They couldnt score a touchdown against the Bengals yesterday. The Pats offense just lacks weapons for Brady to work with and cant help the defense out at all. This is the weakest Patriots team in a long time, they have to earn their way back in to the top 5.

Until kc beats a relevant team, they're nothing but a fluke to me. Arizona started 4-0 last year... So yeah

While KC is 5-0 and should be ranked ahead of us, I don't think they are better than us. Sure, their D is better but does their offense really put up points against SF and Seattle like we did if they played those teams. Probably not. The difference between our defenses isn't that large but offensively I think we are ahead by a good margin.

We will see in week 16 though.

^implying TEN isnt relevant this year.

KC probably has the best defensive front in football, and they are unbeaten. Theyve looked really good in all those wins too. You cant fault them for taking care of buisness week in and week out.

Until theyre offense proves to be too weak (because the defense IS legit), they stay ahead of Indy in my opinion. That could change, but based on the season so far, I cant put KC below a 1 loss team.

It's about a 99.92994294959299293929329492492949249% chance that Denver rolls into Indy 6-0...and well I would LOVE to put that first loss in the right side for them! (err...I would love the COLTS to put that first loss...sure us fans play a role, at least the ones at the game anyway).

Time to get your popcorn ready and it's still two weeks away!

    • Can't keep having your safety be leading tackler. We will also lose Cross to injury if the rest of the team can't learn how to tackle.    Especially Franklin
    • I still think the inaccuracies and the sailing of his throws is masking the progress he's made as a QB. I think decision-making-wise and when it comes to reading the defense, he's on a very good trajectory. He looks like a QB who knows what he's doing, who knows where he needs to go with the ball. He probably needs to work on his timing with the receivers a bit and he needs to be a bit quicker with his decisions at times, but overall those are things a young QB will naturally get better at with time and experience.   Just take a moment and think about it - it feels like almost every single one of his worst looking throws are throws where he went through his progression, read the defense and made the right decision. Just the throws themselves were off. Some of them WAY OFF.    Now don't get me wrong, at some point he will need to start hitting those throws because at the end of the day what's the point of reading the defense and making the right decision if you sail the ball 5 yards over the receiver's head? If he doesn't get better at that, he will bust, because no team will have the patience for a vet QB who can't hit those type of throws with any consistency. I really hope the coaching staff is working with him on it and we see some progress by the end of the season.
    • Give him the rest of the year before we make too much judgement on progress. Dude is super young and still figuring it out.     I think his footwork is poor, and he relies on his rocket launcher arm to save him w/o thinking about mechanics. When he's under pressure is when he resorts to kind of like a backyard ball approach.    I think the WR's have issue on trying to catch his fastballs, so now he's trying to throw with "touch" and underthrowing quite a bit. Though there have been a lot of dropped passes by the WR's for sure.    All these wildly sailing balls and inaccurate throws are what's concerning. Hopefully it's all correctable. (I think it is?)
