Niners/Rams

How on earth is Sam Bradford their franchise QB? He does not make great decisions and is not accurate, he does have a lightning quick release and that's it

Also shows Brian Schottenheimer carried over the Jets offense to the Rams :)

Yeah, I didn't get the Schottenheimer hire. Huge year for Bradford...a guy that needs some stability....and fisher hires that guy.

The Rams have been overrated. Many have been picking them as the sexy darkhose in the NFC but the competition around them is just too strong in the division. The team doesn't have it. I even bought into the hype a few times I think but they look worse this season to me so far.

I think many got carried away too since they beat the 49ers last year and tied them in another.

Amazing to me in the offseason we were supposed to be shaking in our boots over playing the NFC West. Kinda like the NFC North last year many said and we went 3-1 vs. them and I bet if we played Chicago late in the year instead of week 1 then we beat them.. Still the Seahawks will be a big challenge for us but at least it's a home game.....

I'm glad the niners bounced back...now the Texans have to deal with them.

Yep.  Good point.

It almost seemed as if it took a while tonight but once they got some "swag" back they started to roll the Rams.

They remembered to run the ball...and the Rams are pretty horrible at anything resembling blocking.

I'm glad I put in GTA 5 tonight and skipped this game, talk about a snorefest.

I don't understand the hate Sam Bradford gets. If that kid was on the Packers or Saints who have an arsenal of offensive weapons, he would be putting up Kurt Warner type numbers. Plus not much of a run game since their war horse is living out his final years in Atlanta. Hopefully one day he gets the right coordinator and it does happen, if anything he's underrated.

I don't hate Bradford, I just don't think he is anything more than a quality back-up. Should have taken RG3 last year but the Rams are buried under Sam's rookie deal. The "no weapons" excuse is getting old after 3+ years, he just isn't a top flight QB nor has he ever really flashed that kind of potential imho.

Besides, Put Cook or Givens on a team with a quality starting QB and you would see what they can really do

You lost me when you said they should have drafted Vick 2.0...nevermind.

Rams are going to have to be in the market for a veteran QB or a QB through the draft, Bradford has the pieces and has had pieces in the past to show better then he has in his career

I dont know. The Rams receivers should* be good i guess based off where they are drafted but from what ive seen theyve look really bad so far this year. Not saying Bradford doesnt deserve some blame but he has probably dealt with the most consistently bad to average WR corps since his rookie year.

It also doesnt help the Rams running game (along with the Giants) has been absolutely putrid.

Steve Smith

Danny Amendola

Danario Alexander

Donnie Avery

Steven Jackson(rb)

Laurent Robinson

Jared Cook

Now none of those are elite receivers and Im not going to try to pass them off as elite but he has had talent over the years, Now part of it is the coordinator this particular year and the O Line stinks this year but he has had pretty decent O Lines in the past and a running game. Now this year I would not do anything with him but it would sure be on my mind if I am the Rams GM for the near future

PS3?

And yeah, I don't get the Bradford hate either.  He has played for a team that has been rebuilding forever.  Really hasn't gotten a REAL weapon until this year (Austin), lost his running game and never really had a defense to depend on either.

360 :D  Just got my hands on it. Don't think I'll ever pick up IV again!! I am blown away after one day of playing!

Bradford puts up good numbers too with the small things he has, that's what is impressive. If it's Alex Smith or RGIII, people act like they are the next Moon and Aikman, but if Bradford has one bad game against a top tier team, he's "overrated".

No, people bag on Smith and Griff too. The media has no love for several QBs and they love to overreact about the good and the bad lol.

Thoughts on game:  9ers are going back to traditional football.  Really didn't see any trick plays or Pistol formations, just straight up line-up and punch em in the mouth football.

Yep. They look like the Alex Smith niners. They will not make it back to the SB this year. Both Seattle and Chicago are better then them and probably the Saints too depending if their D holds up.

Even when the WRs are open, you can look at Sam Bradford not being accurate to the back shoulder.

He has the arm strength and quick release, no doubt. But when he has to fit windows where the WR has less separation, accuracy is a BIG concern, IMO. In other words, he does not throw his WR open.

I'm not a believer in Chicago yet.  They do this every year, start strong and then fizz out.  I do believe Seattle is better, especially when Percy Harvin comes back.  Saints are definitely going to contend but I see them on the same level as SF, that's a wash to me.  But I do agree, them going back to the SB is looking harder than what it looked like before the season started.

Ahhh 360 smh.  I'm PS3.  But yeah, the game is amazing and the online hasn't even come out yet.

    • What I’m reading on him the Pacers did get good value. Looks like he will need time to develop but he is in the right situation to do that. The pacers are stacking some quality young players that will prove to be more outstanding depth or assets if they choose to make a trade. Very exciting time for the team right now.
    • I’m not a religious person, but since you’re an educator I think you’re doing Gods work!   In these crazy insane times we’re all living in you’re doing one of the toughest jobs on earth.  And you’re teaching perhaps the most difficult generation to deal with.     From a distance it feels like you’re being very unfair to you.  I’m hoping in time you’ll see yourself in a completely different light.    Someone highly thought of.  A leader in the community.  A protector of young minds.   I couldn’t admire a teacher more.
    • You are too self-deprecating. You are one of the most respected and bright members here. You should never feel that you are failing. I'm sure your wife and children don't feel that way.  Indiana does not pay teachers what they deserve. But money is overrated. Having good morals and good character should be valued a lot more. JMO.
    • They make a heck of a lot more money than I do. Even those on the practice squad are making life changing money.    To be completely honest, as an educator I feel more like trash nowadays. One of those moments where I feel like I’m failing as a man, a husband, a father and a teacher. I would absolutely never consider an honest working NFL player as trash.
    • Food for thought… Once again, you continue to be your own worst enemy.     The Colts overall TE room is loaded with young players most of whom have had very little playing time for a variety of reasons.   So if you want to say the room might not be ranked high, that’s fair.    But you don’t say that.  You call them “trash”.  Why you feel that’s appropriate is a mystery.   Whenever you try the internet tough guy approach it typically blows up on you.     No one is trash.     You ignore the last three years and the QB and HC carousel the Colts have dealt with.  All of which has impacted the Colts weapons, especially the TE’s.   Ballard has publicly talked about how promising he thinks his TE room might be.   Woods, Granson, Ogletree, Mallory and MAC.    Only MAC is questionable and that’s because the salary hasn’t matched expectations.  But the first four?   All are promising.   They’re just young and looking for opportunity.  But they are NOT trash.     There’s a difference.
