That was the one I was going to post!  A few minor surprises...I think Angerer is the major one to me.

Also hoping like 'heck' Iljalana improves to number two.....not sure I can stomach Sowell as backup LT.  (Unless improved)

Vaughn looking good.....hope it continues into regular season...this from his harshest critic!   :colts:  :colts:  :colts: !!!

What changes have been made after 3 weeks?

Reitz has been backup at LT moving Ijalana to 3rd team. Cleary has played backup RG. Holmes and Thornton have been injured. Anderson has been placed on IR. Carter has been traded and Williams seems to have supplanted Megett. Hickman and Spears are on IR. Howell may have supplanted Sergio Brown.

Maybe he is not that talented to you but a good kicker is important enough to use either a roster spot or PS spot for. Just a few years ago we missed a kick that allowed the Steelers to go to the SB instead of us.

Vandershank was statistically the best in the biz, so this is a weird argument...

No doubt every team wants a clutch kicker, but the Colts currently have a HOF kicker already on the team, so what is your point???

Vinateri is getting old.

Vinateri isn't going anywhere, the rookie kikcer we have was brought in to give Vinateri's leg some rest nothing more, Mcmanus will be cut just like the kicker we had last year was

Probably will be cut but Vinateri can't play very much longer. Why rest his leg with McManus? McAfee kicks off and can kick FGs.

We need to keep McManus under lock and key....final answer.  I have said early and often I love AV, but I would support any move the Colts organization made now if they deem appropriate.

McManus is a keeper.  He is the smoothest 'long' kicker I have seen in awhile.  (OK Prater has a leg too...among others.)  As stated before, AV really has to put extra effort into the long kicks these days (Understandable) I just do not want this kicker to slip away from us. :blueshoe:  :blueshoe:  :blueshoe:  :fb:  :fb:  :fb:

Yes but for how long? We replaced a longsnapper last year who could still snap well.

We released Snow because he was a liability in coverage, especially in comparison with Overton.

Vinatieri has been strong in preseason. He had several big kicks for us last year, even with some inconsistency in the first half of the season. If we get rid of him this year, it should be because someone beats him out, and so far, no one has. Not even close. And that's because he's been money on all his kicks, including a 52 yarder last week.

He is getting old, and because of that, I doubt we keep him once his contract expires after this season. But I don't think we're going to move on when he's still under contract and still performing at a high level.

If anything, I'm thinking McManus has been kicking off better than McAfee. McAfee's contract is fully guaranteed for this year, so he's not going anywhere. But I really don't think McManus has even a small chance of taking Vinatieri's job right now. But I'm sure his number will be in Grigson's rolodex all season long, just in case.
