Perhaps not,  and it has nothing to do with his going to Stanford, if that's what you're getting at.    I have no problem cutting Stanford guys if they're not getting the job done.    This is the NFL which often stands for Not For Long.    I get that.

 

But,  there will be 24 offensive players and I think Griff is the 24th best player.

 

All of the other spots can be filled completely...

4 RB's including a FB

3 TE's

9 OL's

6 WR's

 

That's 24.

 

Is there a 5th RB to consider?    Maybe.   If Chris Rainey hadn't been so stupid, he might've made this team.   I don't think we need 4 TE's,  especially with Swoope on the PS.     And 9 OL's is plenty.

 

So,  I think we're OK to carry 6 WR's and the 6th is either Whalen or Rogers.   And I'm fine keeping both.

Whalen didn't even play tonight I think that's pretty telling.

So i think it's down to do they keep six WRs for Rogers. He played a lot tonight. Historically that's not good for guys hoping to make a roster.

I'm just curious to know others thoughts, because i'm really high on this dudes work ethic and selflessness...

 

When I found out how many times he was on and off the 53 man roster last year I was like damn this dude is going through what I went through in high school (roster spots/cut obviously) and I couldn't help but admire how calm, cool, and collected he was in interviews about the whole situation. Long story short, I think he's a fan favorite, never drops the ball, and I really want him to make the team!!!

He thinks everyone who prefers Whalen over Rodgers does so because Griff is white. Never mind the fact Griff can return punts, catches everything that comes his way and doesnt get unsportsmanlike penalties. Also, not everyone who prefers Griff is white.

Honestly,  now that the dust has settled from the Cincy game, and the Colts' OL is a complete mess,  I think all bets are off,  because Grigson is likely going to have to go out and find more OL talent....

 

Never seen anything like what has happened to our OL this training camp.    This is ridiculous.... 

 

Heck,  we might even have to consider signing Incognito,  or trading for Boone.....
