2024/2025 Weekly Pick'em Thread

The 2023/2024 Weekly Pick'em Thread became a popular thread last season. I will get this started now so people can comment on it or want to participate in it. 

 

Rules remain the same:

Posters have to get their picks in every week before all games are played, if you fail to pick a game than it goes down as a loss. For example, if someone misses a full week, that will give them an 0-16 record for the week. If they miss picking just 1 game, it just goes down as 1 loss.

As you can see, it was very competitive and only 6 games separated posters 1-7.

 

Gold Medals = @2006Coltsbesteverand @Moe.

 

Silver Medal = @chad72.

 

Bronze Medals = @Chrisaaron1023and @EasyE.

 

I am looking forward to defending my Gold as I am sure Moe is too. Chad was all by himself with the Silver. Chris and Easy earned Bronze. Feel free to comment, looking forward to seeing @Moeas we fought to a draw over 18 weeks grueling weeks - hey Moe, Homer is coming this fall to a theater near you .

@Solid84, one thing I have always respected about you is, you speak your mind and love to compete. You don't back down, even when I debated on other things. Knowing you, you think you will win this year and I love it. Moe was on fire late and pulled a Draw on me, Chad scared the freakin Hell out of me. It was like battling him for 12 rounds and escaping with a split decision win  . Fun stuff!

I don’t know if I’ll win, you guys were really good last season, but I participate to try and win lol.

Your winning % was nearly 61%, Moe's and Mine were 63.6%. That is pretty close. You missed the 1st 2 weeks, so it screwed you.

You were picking better than me most weeks, just had unfortunate luck once or twice, I definitely earned that last spot. My average was pretty bad week after week.

You and @Chrisaaron1023have been the main stays in here regarding this. The 1st year we did this (2021), I only beat you by 1 game. That was my other Split Decision win. You were outstanding that season. You in 2021, and last season in 2023 between Chad and Moe gave me all I could handle. In 2022, you and Chris fell off a bit but last season Chris was killing it towards the end. I was just hanging on for dear life  .

 

I feel like a fighter that is something like 20-0-1, 2 close Split decisions wins = You in 2021 and Chad = 2023, and 1 draw which was to Moe in 2023. Fortunately, still undefeated but all it takes is having 2 or 3 bad weeks doing this and it can mess up your whole season.

I know Chad hinted around he may not be in it this upcoming season after last season ended. It is kind of tiring having to make sure you get your picks in weekly, switching picks too because of strategy, etc.. It would be a shame if Chad isn't in it because he is one of my most feared people to predict against. Had he not switched a pick or 2 at the end, he could have won this. 

 

Let me say this, this is all in fun, I don't think I am better than anyone, I am just having fun with this because it is, well fun. Do I want to win, hell yes  , but it is just a bragging rights thing. No money involved, something to get our minds off the Colts playing bad, get your mind off the Trolls is the way I look at it. Hey, if someone beats me, you should feel great about it, talk smack it is your time, you deserve it because predicting isn't easy .

Yeah, same here. My guess is we will have at least 6 or 7 people do it. You, RollerColt, Solid84, Moe so far. I like to at least have 5.

I would like to see more than a handful  regular participants but just the local forum prognosticators is nice and cozy too.

 

I remember as a kid I often entered a National Beat the Experts college football contest and won a couple T Shirts and once a $100 cash prize. 

I knew my college football in those days and watched every pro, college, and Bowl games I could.. Sometimes had multiple tv's going for bowl games that were broadcast at the same time.
