A good breakdown of AR from Irish Podcaster

I know there’s a few threads about Anthony Richardson but this one was a little unique in that it was from an Irishman (I love Ireland, been there 6 times).
The cadence of the narration is a bit much but it does reveal AR is more than just a running QB: He has a pocket awareness and is pretty doggone accurate, especially downfield and oh yeah, he can RUN!!

I don’t know about you guys but I’m hoping to see some exciting play this year from #5!

That Tennessee play caught my eye when I watched him after the draft.

I think its significant because it debunks the idea that he is just a running QB who relies on his legs to bail him out of trouble.

That play shows that he can play from the pocket. He did exactly what you want to see there. He bought himself some time and kept his eyes downfield. And the way he just rose up with that quick release and threw an absolute dart downfield? That was something only a few guys can do.

He still has a long way to go, so Im not sure I totally agree with this guy, but man does he have some things that get you excited......cant wait for the season.

The good news. He is just now 21, i believe he is a solid mixture of humble, intelligence, focused. He will get great coaching. AR shows defense reading, uses eye manipulation, and anticipates the rush. Excellent news.

The bad news. His footwork "was" sandlot level.

I have no doubt that he will be working long hours on his footwork.

With 3 months till the start of the season he can be much improved.

  It all bodes well.

Excellent analysis, thanks for posting.

I didn’t watch much, or any Florida games last season.   I live in Florida now and a Gator fan told me we wasted our pick. The guy is a doctor, but that doesn’t mean he’s a football expert.

He thought Bennett would have been a better pick.  I told him that he was this years Danny Wuerffel.  That quieted him down, lol.

Please AR5, make him eat crow every time I see him this season!

This is off topic, but where was your favorite place in Ireland? I'm going next summer for my honeymoon but know idea which part.

Check out the West coast. Fly into Shannon and you’ll be close to Galway (about an hour). You can pick up the Wild Atlantic Way (coastline roadway) and head south to the Cliffs of Moher and the Dingle peninsula.
There’s a cool little town (Kenmare) where we rented a house.

The Ring of Kerry is close. If you have the time, you can head northeast to the Wicklow mountains (they have the most delicious strawberries there), and then either head back to Shannon or to Dublin first, then to Shannon.

May the good Lord bless your marriage and the time there!! (And don’t forget to drive on the left side)!!!

Bunratty castle near Limerick is fun.  Touristy but interesting.  Still on that west side.  Going up and down the stone spiral staircases and imagining what life was like is amazing.

    • This contract makes me think about the other receivers who will now get contracts and how are the teams going to go about it:   Jamarr Chase:  he’s definitely getting $28million or more.  I don’t see Higgins staying unless there are numerous reworks and pay cuts from other teammates.  I’m sure Boyd and Burton will be their WR2 and WR3 in the future.  Bengals will definitely pick up his 5th year option, but what will happen in 2026?   CeeDee Lamb:  he’s getting paid also.  He’s gotten better every year and last year was a MONSTER year for him.  Let’s see what Jerry does.  He has Dak and Ceedee to pay and both are going to command some big contracts.     seems like aiyuk is the last one because I’m pretty sure anyone else will either have their 5th year option picked up or have gotten paid.   props to Ballard for getting Pittman paid before the top dogs like JJ set the market.
    • Yes agreed Well Deserved!    I have been hoping that Granson can turn into a player like Clark
    • Gotcha. Wentz was  one of the most talented qbs in the league based on physical traits. The Colts, in their assessment of Wentz, didn't realize they were not getting the same player mentally. I am not a Wentz apologist but I do,  and said it at the time, the Oline needed to take some responsibility in what he became. He was battered and bruised by the lack of protection and I think the beating he took in Philly and the early one he took with the Colts, knocked whatever was left of a starting qb in that body and mind. The point I am making is this. We can say he is our franchise LT and say he played really well and is deserved of a  big 2nd contract.  If one were just to look at it objectively.  Say fans and Colts media have him rated as a 7.5 and based on Cosell's comments he has him as a 5.0. Do you think Cosell could be so way off in his evaluation of Raimann? That is just what I found interesting. I mean I could say Cosell say that Raimann was say average and go okay, we can live with that. To say that he is not the answer and/or has not panned out is a different monster all together.
