2 reasons:

 

1) He played quite a bit of center last year and looked pretty good.

2) Centers spend many of their pass pro reps giving help to one of the guards.  The guards seem much more likely to be bull rushed one-on-one, which is the type of rush Pinter couldn’t handle.  Pinter’s good at completing those combo blocks from the center position, but he doesn’t have the strength to hold up against a NT on his own…

Pinter is an interesting case. I'm a Ball State alum, I've seen him play in college so naturally I root for him to succeed. My memory is slightly fuzzy, but I remember he was originally slated to play TE, before moving to OT. Playing guard is obviously not what he is good at...
