He has now missed fg's in 3 straight games, he had a great run but Hot Rod has more dependable range when looking at the 2

That's debatable - I know he was hurt, but Rodrigo missed some pretty easy kicks (to include an extra point) that cost us the Ravens game - had we won that, not only would we have likely already clinched a playoff berth, we'd probably force the Titans to win out vice just 1 of 2 to take the division.

He was injured as you said, that he kicked at all that hurt just shows he wanted to help the club that game.

Career wise they arent close in the 40-49 range...Hot Rod is 14/17 (82.3%)while Badgley is 23 of 32 ( 71.8)...Under 40 both automatic, over 50 both struggle but that 40-49 range will come into play down the stretch. Love Badgley filling in but it is time imo and think we will see the club make this switch.

Career wise, we're looking at a much larger sample from Badgley (5 seasons vs 1½) but even if you only count this season, Badgley has been much more effective with a higher FG%, (78.9 vs 78.6) XP% (97.4 vs 87.5) and more than twice as many points (83 vs 40).

One of the best abilities for a player is availability, and Michael Badgley has never really been hurt but Rodrigo has (not saying that it's his fault) but his ill-timed injury not only cost the Colts a chance to win an important conference game,  it opened the door for Badgley who has made the most of this rare opportunity.

I think Badgley has done well enough to at least warrant finishing this season with the Colts, setting up a serious training camp battle for the Colts' placekicking job with Blankenship next offseason.

    • Ballard should be fired.    We have no Oline depth. No Dline depth.  (if Buck or Grove get injured, we have late rounders backing them up, Ben Banagou is still on the roster somehow?) Hole at QB  Our best secondary player is an aging veteran that we signed in FA, behind him is Moore and Rogers ..) Moore probably not gonna be here too much longer, and Rogers Sr is the only quality depth piece there.    We drafted well at safety this year, and he had a quality signing with McLeod (bridge player) Thomas II has played above expectations, and Cross needs some time.    The main problem is there's no depth for the Oline (hole at RG, possible need at LT) Similar problem at DE --> Yannick hasn't been all that great, probably lost the trade overall. Kwity is often injured. Dayo is alright but nothing special yet, Tyquan Lewis is solid but often injured. Turay isn't on the team, Banagou is a bust.    for DT depth we have Cowart and Johnson II ? It's poor, it's very poor when you look at it. We've got some real talent in the starting spots, but when you really look at the roster, to use ballard's own terminology, "the cupboards are bare"
    • Nothing is new here. The Oline has been struggling.  Yeah our offensive line has regressed since it's top level play.  But to say "after 2 games we r seeing the issue with this team is" doesn't make sense because they've improved, at least from what i've seen, since saturday has been here.    We have a rookie at LT, and a 7th round backup at RG. --> with almost no good depth, outside of an aging dennis kelly.
    • we need more depth at DT. If we lost Buckner or Grover we'd be in trouble.
    • Think Williams wrapped up the Heisman tonite,  USC is sitting pretty going into Pac 12 title game. The D has forced turnovers all season long, and club is #1 in nation in turnover differential by a large margin (#28 closer to #2 then #2 is to USC).
    • Couldn’t have said it better!
