He hasn't seemed right since Pat retired. Is father time catching up to him or is he still trying to get adjusted to having a new holder??  He certainly hasn't looked like himself.

It’s the holders. Special teams is going to be an issue this season. We can’t do certain things we did with Pat.

I think age is catching up to him.

 

I expected him to hit 75-80% this year and then call it quits.

Odds are the problem with Vinny is either the holder or the snapper.     Both are new.

I think it's mostly just a new kicking team gelling. Personally I thought there was something up with the missed FG hold. Vinny went up to discuss something with Rigo afterward too.

McAfee even said on his podcast that they wouldn't look great for a few weeks, that it'd take time to get some chemistry.

I'm not saying he flat out botched it with laces in or anything, but Rigo held it more sideways than you'd want as a kicker. The ball curled inside too, which matched up with the angle that it was held. AV seemed to go up and talk to Rigo after the kick.

Not saying AV is immune to father time, but I think that the angle of the hold did just enough to bend that kick inside.

They changed his long snapper and holder.  Those are big changes to a kicker.
