Costanzo, Vujnovich, Bond, Mewhort and Good? If I am not mistaken that makes two UDFA as the opening day starters.

It's going to be tough sledding offensively with this patchwork line. It may get a bit ugly Sunday.

It's not uncommon to have UDFA on the O-line.      A number of teams over the year have built their lines with lesser draft picks and UDFA.

 

Big bodied people often gain coordination and understanding of how to move in their early 20's.  

 

Granted,  it's not ideal or desirable....     I just wouldn't be so quick to dismiss what we have.   

 

Of course,  I could be singing a different tune about 30 hours from now!

If I'm not mistaken, I think we had a UDFA starting on a team that went to a SB.  

 

But it I agree, what makes me nervous is that they haven't played together as a unit.  It makes me less nervous since Luck isn't playing though.

The Tennessee Titans were widely regarded as having one of the best lines in football last year and they had 2 UDFA's and a 4th round pick playing there. 

 

To me it's about what that group as a whole are coached to do rather than needing all 5 players to be studs.

One is a rookie UDFA and the other is a 2nd year bench warming UDFA.
