Overall, a solid week of results against the Patriots.

or at least competitive enough so New England doesn't get a first round bye.

The 3 teams are tied for best record, but NE is 3rd due to current tiebreakers. Denver and Cincinnati play each other Dec. 28, so that will drop one of the two back if the Pats win out.

The tie-breaker for three or more teams is conference record, and the 7-1 Pats and 6-2 Broncos trail the 8-1 Bengals. That drops New England and Denver into a tie for second, and the Broncos get that tiebreaker due to their overtime victory over the Pats last week.

Here is the remaining schedules of the 3 teams involved for the playoff bye's -

CINCINNATI -- vs. Pittsburgh, at San Francisco, at Denver, vs. Baltimore

DENVER -- vs. Oakland, at Pittsburgh, vs. Cincinnati, vs. San Diego

NEW ENGLAND -- at Houston, vs. Tennessee, at N.Y. Jets, at Miami

Much can happen in the 4th quarter of the season.

Ha. I figured.

How are your Orioles doing this off-season? Sox just signed Price which I was happy about. Need pitching.

Well we got Mark Trumbo, and it looks like we will be resigning Darren O'Day. We really need to resign Chris Davis, get a left handed starter, and a left handed corner outfielder. It's a huge laundry list for a cheap owner. I wish he would spend like the Red Sox do.

Thanks for posting, CBFL. Looks like no one is off the hook, yet.

Cincy could drop one to either Pittsburgh or Denver. Or both.

Denver could drop one to Pittsburgh or Cincinnati. Or both.

New England could drop one to Houston or New York Jets. Both are away. It's possible, but a long shot.

"Much can happen in the 4th quarter of the season." I hope you're right. Would not mind at all if New England ends up the 3rd seed.
