Would be a pretty interesting move since both of them won a Superbowl for the Giants in 2011.

Cruz might be delayed in his return, or even not show the same ability he did before.  It could also be that they're just kicking the tires, as the tweet suggests.

Not really.  Cruz is unknown, Welker and Nicks didn't show any significant promise last year

Nicks know the system being a former player and he is not very old !. Cruz is expected back soon.

Nicks was last on the Giants in 2013.  Ben McAdoo was hired in 2014.  He won't know this new system they're running

Cruz is still injured but may be back in some capacity this week. They got rid of James Jones earlier this season then just got rid of Preston Parker after the Falcons debacle in week 2. Rueben Randle is no slouch but he's not great either. They are just trying a few guys out to see if one can contribute for the time being.

That was a dumb move but at the time he was like I'm not going to be a huge guy here, release me and let me see what I can do for the Packers now that Nelson went down. It's not like he was released because of his ability. I wonder what Reggie is doing right now.

James jones caught 73 passes and 6 tds last year with the raiders

For some reason Nicks just never fit in here but he had a big TD catch against Denver in the Playoffs. Nicks has game and is solid.

I realize what you meant. My point is james jones had a pretty good season last year. Nix didn't with a much better offense. Jones is the superior player

Feels that way. I wish he would retire but the Giants are probably a decent fit for him at this point.

Yea he hasn't played a single snap since his devastating injury against the Eagles last year. Hopefully he can get through this and get back to being great.
