Vikings And Rams Games

Case

AP and Ponder out and it looks like they're both bad, especially Peterson. Those knee injuries kill people's careers. Hope he's okay.

Exactly what I was thinking. The dreaded "never the same" tag.

For some solace....Minnesota fans are in the same boat as we are concerning draft position....except they don't have the GOAT itching to play for them for the next 4 years.

I highly doubt the Rams will beat the Niners next week. The Niners still need to win out to get the bye (assuming the Saints beat the Falcons on monday)

here are the scenarios for niners/saints ***(assuming Harbaugh will rest his players)***

If the Niners lose today and the Saints win Monday, the Saints clinch the #2 seed with a win over the Lions next week (They control their destiny).

If the Niners lose today and the Saints lose Monday, the Saints clinch the #2 seed with a win over the Lions next week and a 49ers loss to the rams.

if the Niners win today and the Saints lose Monday, the Niners clinch the #2 seed. The Saints cannot get the #2 seed even with a 49ers loss next week.

So if the Niners win today, rooting against the Saints would help the Colts because if the Saints lose as well, the 49ers may rest their starters against the Rams meaning the Rams have a shot at winning. If the Rams and Colts both go 3-13 the Colts get the #1 pick.

Now if the Colts lose next week none of this matters. This is all assuming the Colts win next week.

Obviously if the Colts win next week and the Rams lose to the 49ers, the Rams get the #1 pick. So to sum it up we need the Rams to beat the 49ers and there is a higher chance of this happening if the 49ers rest their starters. I am aware the Rams can still beat the niners even if they play their starters but the chances are lower for the Rams to win.

Now here is the kicker, IF the Packers lose their next two games against the Bears and Lions and the 49ers win their next two games against the Seahawks and Rams. The 49ers clinch the #1 seed over the Packers. So if the Packers lose against the Bears tomorrow and the Niners win today. They will probably still play their starters against the Rams because the Lions could beat the Packers.

If the 49ers lose today and the Saints win Monday Night, they're probably going to bench their starters like Gore, Smith, Davis, Willis, and Smith.
