Video vs TCU, Baylor, Texas

I get bored so I start looking around for prospects nobody is talking about.  Colts worked him out or met with him according to coltsauthority.com.

This guy is projected to go undrafted I think or late round.  Not a bad runner to me and has good size and speed.  Also loves contact

6'0" 217 4.5 Forty. Ran for almost 1000 yards between 2 schools(I believe he transferred) in 2014 and 11 TDs

Kind of runs like Zac Stacy to me in some ways depending on the run.

Had a 75 yard touchdown run vs Oklahoma that you can see on YouTube

Here's a video with clips of his Blocking, Running, and Receiving skills

This is what I meant when I said there a number of lower round backs you can get in this draft that are similar to Mike Davis.

Yes I love Gurley quite a bit, but I can also resignate with the crowd who says wait a little later on a back.  Lots of good ones scattered throughout the whole process.

i like him started looking him up a bit have to do more research not often somebody like this flies under my radar last couple years i'm always looking for late round gems i like him alot. i think he might even be there for us to snatch up in the 6th-7th round i'd be all for it.

I kinda like him. He runs with power, Has some shift, Not a burner but shows good vision. I wish he had more speed and did more in the passing game with the ball in his hands......13 receptions for 52 yards in 2 years. he played at West Virginia for 2 years, Transferring from Butler Community College, Worth a look as an undrafted rb

I agree! I think he's really under rated, may be better than some of these backs that will be drafted ahead of him.

I think he's faster than what it looks like.  No one caught him on that run vs. Oklahoma.

I'm not as much worried about his speed as I see him as something in the neightborhood

of Frank Gore maybe.  Supposed to run a 4.5 which isn't bad, puts him in the same range

as Melving Gordon. Even Duke Johnson ran similar at the combine. We'll see

No way a guy like this should be going undrafted, but I'll darn sure take him.

He kind of reminds me of Edgerrin James. Not exceptional long speed, but a good first step/quick burst guy. Vision is pretty good too in that he does a good job of using his blockers then attacking the hole. I actually really like Dreamius the more I watch him.

heckuva find krunk..

He's a big back with really good feet, and I love his balance.  You have to use a really good form tackle to bring him down. Arm tackles do not work at all on this kid, he just runs through them.  I will be really excited if we draft him, or bring him in as a UDFA. I think he'd definitely find a way on the roster.

i wouldn't think he should at all but a late round steal no doubt i'll take him all day i really like the guy might get some serious consideration in my final mock draft

When you want to start cramming the football down somebodies throat this is one of the type of runners you pull out in those late December and January type of games.  If the Colts end up picking up somebody like a Duke Johnson I still hope they give Smith a shot as a UDFA.  I think he'd make his way on the roster for sure.  I'm just glad the Colts already met with him so he's on their radar for sure.

    • Oh contrare, I’d say it says more about Shane Steichen’s skill set as a coach.
    • Excerpt from an article at NFL.com …     ”… One player the Colts can lean on while Richardson gets his sea legs: running back Jonathan Taylor. After last year's hold-in and injury issues, the star running back looks back to his old self. JT bursts through the line like a Mustang on fire, leaving linebackers in his wake. On Sunday, Taylor totaled 12 carries for 103 yards and +55 rushing yards over expected, his most RYOE in a game since Week 15 of 2021. He also forced five missed tackles across 14 touches.    Shane Steichen's decision to bench the star back during the entire fourth quarter because the Colts were in pass mode belies credibility. Even if Taylor isn't a prolific pass catcher out of the backfield, sitting your best offensive weapon for an entire quarter is folly -- hopefully one Steichen doesn't repeat. If defenses are going to sit back to slow Richardson's deep attack, Taylor should gobble up chunk gains.    At this point, Taylor is the most consistent thing going for Indy. The 25-year-old back owns a game-changing gear and can shoulder a massive load. His presence and production should help settle Richardson down during the roller-coaster dips. Taylor hasn't looked fully healthy in a couple of years. He did this past Sunday. The Colts need to ride that stallion.”     The above referenced article kind of echoes my feelings on the matter.
    • Exactly I am confused with that comment by Shane unless that one drop deserved him to be benched. Again coaches know what's the best.
    • I'm not sure why the team thinks JT can't be effective in the passing game.
