jags could have changed history

If the jags didn't beat us the last week of 2011 season, we would never have gotten luck. Thinking back you think the jags regret beating us now and now have to deal with along with the rest of our division Andrew for at least 15 years

I believe we would have had the second pick if we ended in a 3-13 tie with Minnesota. Then what happens ? Do we try to trade 1 spot to 1.1 with the Rams ? Do we stay at 2 and let Washington pick first and hope they take RG3 ? Assuming SL stills stays with Bradford , they could do two trades and really make a haul if Irsay was set on Luck. Or does he stay with Peyton and trade pick 1.2 ? I have a feeling he felt there was a big gap between Luck and RG.

If we had pick 2 I bet we would keep Peyton and trade down for Mo Claiborne or something. Maybe we would have drafted Trent Richardson (lol). Dodged a bullet there.

who know what would have happened if we had the number two pick, if the Redskins still traded with the Rams they might have still drafted RG3 and we might have gotten Luck at number two. Heck we might have traded to move up to get Luck.

Dodged 2 bullets really. I (and many others) would make the argument that Claiborne has been a bigger bust than Richardson so far.

Things I am thankful for:

Playing the Jaguars twice a year

Unowned defenses in fantasy that are playing the Jaguars' offense

Jaguars defense

And now, for the Jaguars winning one pointless game that would ruin their hopes of winning the division for years and years to come.

Thank you for not giving us RGIII!

May their franchise never leave Jacksonville or the AFC South, and always win just enough games to be unable to draft somebody good.

God I love the Jags.

I'm sure whoever had the 1st pic would have taken luck

Irsay already stated we would take Luck with the first pick, which we did. If we had the 2nd he was taking RGIII.

Maybe, Snyder was IN LOVE with RG3 and was said that was who he wanted all along.  There was a legit debate on who would go number one RG3 or Luck.  So I think it would have depended on the team.  I still think it's a very real possibility you would have seen the Colts trade up to get Luck.

Right ... but does Irsay release Manning even if he knows it might be RG3 rather than Luck ? If he approaches the Rams before the March "Manning deadline" , they (SL) ask for a kings ransom for that 1 spot.

Meh, there were only a few that would have considered Griffith. The rest was just something to talk about.

Too many what ifs...but if we don't get Luck I think Manning comes back and we either take the Redskin type trade and rebuild or we select Kalif for our LT and move Constanzo to RT. We certainly could have rebuilt things....maybe even brought in Lovie Smith to replace Caldwell and keep our defense somewhat the same??? Hard to tell. It is what it is..even though I miss watching Peyton run that offense I'm happy with our team. I fully support his career but just as easily can support my Colts too. I'm a big enough FOOTBALL fan to spread my appreciation around and I believe 100% that it doesn't make me 1% less an Indianapolis Colts fan.

    • No, and this is not news.  For a while, folks have been leaning on the Buckner trade as being a great (use of) pick.  But Buck was known as a very good NFL player already, which is not the same thing as using picks on college players you think should be good.  The college evaluation/valuation process has not been good.  That's pretty evident, IMO.
    • Easiest way to fix the Colts defense is to fire Gus Bradley. First it was Michael Lombardi (who I generally don't agree with) who said that Gus defense is simple and now even JJ Watt has said that he runs a defense that doesn't make adjustments for the opponent and defensives that that don't do that generally fail in the NFL. It's interesting to see two weeks in and more and more people are coming out and saying that " Bradley's system is ineffective."   It won't help us much this year but I do believe that Bradley's system is holding back the talent on the defense and him having favorites puts blinders on improving positions (Facyson).
    • When  it is his draft year, he will most likely be the number 1 pick if he continues to excel. There is not doubt in my mind that if the team that is picking is a complete dumpster fire. The Mannings will pull another Eli. They will have a lot of control and the team that is drafting him will have to give into the Manning's recommendations. Thats the way it should be. I always said Bryce Young would be a bust due to his body makeup. That being said, he is getting no help in Carolina and it basically looks like his career is over after only 2 years. This will not happen to Manning. I bet if  Manning's draft year next  was in 2025 and Carolina had the pick.  The Mannings would probably have a list of demands before even entertaining the thought of Manning going there and that is the way it should be.
    • Hey all, been a while. Not sure what to expect on Sunday, Bears offensive line has been horrible. I don't see them being in sync anytime soon. I think it'll be a close game with Colts winning at home.
    • Denver is a huge market actually.  It covers the entire country west of KC, HOU, and DAL except the coast and provides many more opportunities for exposure than Indy.  I don't think Irsay cutting Peyton would have anything to do it.  I think Peyton teases that stuff sometimes just for a little attention.
