Most Dedicated Fan Contest

Recommended Posts

Well, this is for a Colts FAN, not a player, but I thought it was more appropriate here instead of the miscellaneous board...

I am a national finalist for Vick's Most Dedicated Fan contest. You'll find it on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/NyQuil?v=app_187212048013646. Starting on Friday 11/11 my Game Face (along with 31 other fans representing their teams) will be posted and fan voting will start. You can also vote for me by visiting my specific hashtag on Twitter; it is #VicksMDFIndianapolisFan.

I would really appreciate the help and support of the forum community. Hopefully I can bring home a fan victory for Colts nation this year while we are having a rough win/loss time. Like they say in Chicago..."Vote early, vote often!!

Oh, you can also check out my contest blog at http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=10150346227021531.

Thanks...and GO COLTS!!!

Is it you I always see on TV? I know I always see the guy with the painted helmet on his head.

No, that's actually "HelmetHead". He's a great guy too! I'm lucky enough to be representing a GREAT fan base in this contest. I'm hoping to bring a victory to Indy for ALL of our fans.

I also wanted to share this. On Sunday evening after the game, I had an opportunity to talk with a Falcons fan. They had come up from Atlanta and had been in Indy since Thursday. They parked their RV in the corner of Shapiro's parking lot and enjoyed a lot of the city for a few days. He told me that in all of his travels to different NFL cities, Indy "hands down" had the best and friendliest fans he had ever met! He said other than some good-natured ribbing, everyone he met over his few days was friendly, helpful and fun!

THAT'S what I love about being an Indianapolis Colts fan!! That's the way it SHOULD be!!

The Facebook page becomes "active" on Friday for voting. Again, you can find the page at http://www.facebook.com/NyQuil?v=app_187212048013646. Voting on Twitter counts when you use the hashtag #VicksMDFIndianapolisFan.

A few people have asked me what comes along for the contest winner. It includes Super Bowl tickets, an all-access pass to everything during the week, 7 nights downtown during the entire week, and a VISA gift card. So hey...help me out!!! LOL!!

Just a reminder that the voting on Facebook for the contest starts tomorrow. All of the 32 finalists will be pictured with their "Game Day Face". I don't know about the others, but mine is my honest-to-goodness game day face for every home game! LOL! Once again, thanks to everyone who is willing to support me with their votes!! Hopefully I can bring one home for the "home team and fans"!!

Just to clarify, actual voting starts on the 15th and we can vote either on Facebook or on Twitter or is it only by tweeting the hashtag?

It's actually both; I'm finding out more info as I go along! You can vote starting the 15th on Facebook, and you can also vote by tweeting the hashtag #VicksMDFIndianapolisFan.

LOL!! That's funny sfergson727!

I'm heading down to LOS in just a little bit. If you are in the Indy area, WISH-TV is going to interview me this morning about the contest!! I think it will be on the late new tonight, as CBS has a double-header today. If they post it on their website, I'll post a link to it here later tonight after the game.

https://apps.facebook.com/vicksmdf/semi/canvas.php?k=118

Twitter - just include #VicksMDFIndianapolisFan in a tweet to count as a vote!

I'm hoping to attach a link later tonight. WISH-TV followed me around this morning before the game and filmed some typical "pre-game" action! One thing I CAN post now...

Back in the '05-'06 season I managed to get nearly 2/3 of the Super Bowl champs to sign my horn. However, there has been one glaring omission...until today!!!

PeytonSig003.jpg

WISH even filmed him coming up and signing the "Tuba"!! Awesome!!!

I knew you'd get it. Love his marches! My brother is a tuba player also. We went to the game against the 49'ers a couple years back and I pointed you out to him. [yup, reading the forum back then] You know you probably have one of the more famous Tubas in the world now with that final autograph!!! Glad yo see you get it. Anyways looks like your contests starts tomorrow so here's a :bump:

Good Luck!

Thanks Fthood. Hey, I just saw your message. This past game, the security people were allowing fans to come down by the field knowing Peyton would sign some autographs. The best aisle to try is 129. Try and get into the stadium right at 11:00 when it opens. You might even make a sign or something that says about your wife, "My wife is deployed in Afghanistan". That might get enough attention for the signature! Hope that helps!

By the way, to EVERYONE that is viewing this thread, if you have a Twitter account, I NEED YOUR HELP!!! Send a tweet with my hashtag of #VicksMDFIndianapolisFan. That is how Twitter votes are counted. And when you send it out, please ask your followers to retweet using the hashtag too!! Thanks!

The contest is in the VERY early stages, but there are a few contestants that are kickin' butt right now. I need a "Twitter Specialist"!! Most of the voting is being done on Twitter and these early leaders obviously know some Twitter secrets. Well, I'm not afraid to ask for help!!! HELP!! If you have some ideas to help me "get out the vote" on Twitter, or if you know of someone who can give me some pointers, I would appreciate it!! Thanks!

    • Was that the only good receiver taken in that draft? And did they give up multiple picks?
    • Yeah, I have no beef with MHJ as a prospect (I think some are pumping him up a little too much, and there's some name recognition probably influencing the way he's talked about). It would be awesome to have him on the Colts. But just like every other draft prospect in history, the possibility exists that he will not live up to the pre-draft expectations.    But during the pre-draft process, fans and media start falling in love with players. Terms like "generational talent," "future superstar," etc., start getting thrown around. And now we're talking about a prospect as if he's a lock for the HOF before he's even played a game in the NFL. That's fine, it's fun, we all do it. But that's different from actually scouting, setting a board, and making decisions for the team.   Each of us can point to a previous prospect that we loved and raved about and had them fitted for a gold jacket, but who bounced out of the league within 3-4 years. And the same is probably true for NFL scouts and decision makers. Which is why Ballard's comment today -- there is no such thing as a perfect prospect -- is so important to remember. I'm not against the team identifying a guy they really want and going up to get him, but I hope they're not just doing it with stars in their eyes.
    • Would Cincy have made the SB without taking Chase at #5. I got the answer, and it is easy, it is a FAT NO. They would have never got by KC as great as Burrow is. Giving up next years 1st round pick isn't the end of the world to land a generational WR. We still have picks in rounds 2-7 if we did that.
    • Definitely was, but essentially all of them received the same punishment initially.     Just thought it was curious, especially right before the draft. Has to put the CB spot for the Eagles in limbo.     Been wondering if Jontay Porter's NBA lifetime ban had any play in the decision.   Rodgers did bet on his own team.
    • sure hope he does we need a game changing pass catcher
