Draft pick value charts

I believe those are all the same at this point, but at times they've been slightly different. Also, this chart doesn't necessarily add up when you analyze the trades that are made in real life. I think for mid-round trades, it usually favors the team giving up the greater amount of picks.

I think the problem is that this is just a general idea and it doesn't take into account what type of players are available.

However the general idea is that the value of picks goes down exponentially.

I looked at a handful of draft day trades from 2013 yesterday and compared them to this chart, and it was pretty close in every case for trades not including future picks. I think the biggest disparity was 14 points or something... It's a different story when you add future picks in.

Agreed with this.  This chart goes out the window when you take trades like the one the Redskins made to get RGIII.

Of the three links for the draft pick value chart,  the one for drafttek is -- BY FAR -- the best one.

http://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp?RequestTeam=cle

First,  it has the points adjusted for the 32 compensatory picks added to the draft.

Second,  it has an option toward the top of the chart...   simply insert a 2 or 3 letter team ID...    so IND for Indy and TB for Tampa Bay, and the picks that franchise has is clearly marked.

It makes spotting all the picks for other teams that much easier...  and will help you construct the proper trade scenarios....

It's really quite good.    Props to this website for doing this!     Very smart,  very well done!

The only thing I wish it did was, in addition to labeling each pick by it's overall number, I wish it would label each by its' overall number relative to the round you're looking at (i.e. 3rd round, 9th pick, or just 3/9 for short).  Since a lot of times you're using both designations.
