You realize that 95% of the releases you named are meant to be camp fodder in the offseason when rosters are at 90 right? Why release them when you're just going to have to sign another 25 guys with minimal contracts and minimal chances at making the final cut? Especially the guys that are currently on the PS. Obviously they are being stored there because coaches like them.

I think there's a decent chance that a number around $3.3 gets the job done with Brown.

 

He's had 1, maybe 2 decent seasons in his 5-year NFL career.    And none of them are great.

 

Even this year,   he was not our every down guy. 

 

I'll be beyond shocked if any team offers him that kind of money!    Shocked!

 

Seriously.   

 

My guess is that even if a team wants Brown,  they'd want him to be a complimentary back to go with someone else.

 

That's my hunch in late January.........

 

Of course,  your mileage may vary....
