That Vikings loss to Atlanta after the great 1998 season made me numb for a day or two. How does a kicker miss a kick in such an important game after not missing a kick all year. SMH.

    I remember that game.

What a great team the Vikings had. Randall Cunningham was an awesome QB.

Somehow the Falcons stayed close with Chris Chandler and Mort Anderson made a great kick

Was it Gary Anderson of the Vikes that missed his kick and that was the difference in the game.

    A great game no doubt

I have to admit I was surprised when he said no discussions.

    I wasn't.

Its just not Ballard's style to sign big money FA's.

I think if there were any conversations it probably went like this.

Ballard:  "So Sneed what kind of money are we talking ?"

Sneed: "Mr Ballard, I'm looking for a 3 year 75 Million dollar deal".

Ballard: "Ok thanks for letting me know"

    Ballard hangs up.  "CLICK"

I read your posts and "liked" them. You were the one who really got me thinking about drafting a rookie,

    and Milton fits the bill.

Your plan was what I was hoping for, figured having Sam (3 qbs) in the mix as well, in case of injury, could have also factored in.

It's the main reason I am disappointed by the Flacco signing. Now if AR goes down, it's live and die with Flacco.

There perhaps are some other rookie QBs out there besides Milton. Ill have to do my homework (as I always do) as the draft gets closer.

Whats interesting is that Milton is from Tennessee where Peyton is from.

    Perhaps it  is destiny ?

Well. I was just saying, I would have liked for Sam to have gotten a chance. And if he stunk, then go with the rookie QB, or vice versa. The Flacco signing is the same thing again. Like Minshew was.

I agree and said this as well.

Lets go with a rookie sort of like finding our Brock Purdy.

Lets take a look at Joe Milton (from Tennessee) in the 5th to play the 3rd string.

If AR misses a few games, put Milton in and see what he looks like.

In fact move Flacco to 3rd string so he can "mentor" AR.  The advantage of minshew is that he knew Shane's offense.  Flacco doesn't have that advantage.

I know that’s what we were told.   This was revealed at Frank’s intro press conference in Carolina.

Ballard annd Irsay ordered him to start Sam because they had benched Ryan.  The team was worried if Ryan was hurt they’d be on the hook for too much of his contract.   Frank did NOT want to start Sam.   He was ordered.

Mr. NCF. With all due respect sir I never heard Frank was ordered to to start Sam.

How do you know this ? Can you provide a link?

I would rather have a rookie QB like Joe Milton in round 5 who has many tendencies like AR AND has the tools to be a backup to AR next year

Not sure why that’s confusing or sad to you

    Some Joe Milton highlights.

Does anyone notice the similarities to AR ?

Sam wasn’t ready to play.  Frank started him because he was ORDERED to by Irsay and Ballard.   Sam was sacked 9 times.  The story of the game wasn’t Sam.   It was the offensive line disappearing in front of him.

We were told because Sam was mobile he would make the oline look much better than it did with Ryan.

    With all due respect Sir

I'm no AR fan; I hope he pans out but also have doubts like you, but Minshew is far from the answer.

    I have my doubts too.

Especially after watching the Kentucky game

I do want to move on from Sam E

This team needs a late round rookie to be 3rd qb

    Yes absolutely.

Let's draft Joe Milton from Tennessee.

He's literally a carbon copy of AR.

If AR gets hurt again let's make Joe our Brock Purdy and give him a chance to win the starting job.

He flat out said he didn’t think anyone would say no to making $22 million for a season.

That possibly was before the salary cap increase.

With the salary cap increase, premier top tier receivers like Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, Tyreek Hill could make 30-32 million a year.

    Yes you read that right.

Perhaps Pittman considers himself to be in that class of receiver.  I don't but perhaps his agent does.  He may be getting fed bad information by his agent.

Why make 22M when you can make 32M ?

Thinking about this some more, I’m glad it happened.  It’s a win-win.

    1.  If someone wants to pay Pittman what he wants, and they truly believe he’s a WR1, then they should have no problem paying him and giving up 2 1sts.  That’s what it’s going to take to get a WR1 in this league, if not more.

    2.  If someone offers him a contract, He gets to see what his value is.  And if it’s not what he thought it was going to be, then he’ll most likely resign anyway.

no need to freak out people.  I think colts fans (maybe all fans) sometimes put so much value on their players that they’re scared to lose them.  Look at the chiefs, they traded probably the best receiver and kept moving.  The Vikings traded diggs and found Jefferson.  It happens.  We’ll be ok.

@w87r has said it doesn't have to be 2 1st round picks.

This is just disinformation at this point.
