Dave Raynor. I can’t remember what year the NFL switched to the K balls, but the Colts kickoffs had been very short along with terrible coverage units. Neither Vanderjagt or Hunter Smith could get it near the endzone. Raynor was also supposed to be a guy who could boom long field goals. It was a failed experiment. His kickoffs weren’t that great and it wasn’t worth burning a roster spot.
Part of me think it's the scheme. I remember Shaq Leonard complaining.
Guys on my short list are
Steve Wilks
Steve Wilks and Ballard go way back to the Bears and crossed paths with Steichen with the Chargers. Wilks turned the Panthers around and ended the year off on a high note (6-6) before Reich got the HC job. He went on to coach a top 10 defense for the 49ers (lost a starting LB in the Superbowl) and was let go after disagreement and a disappointing Superbowl showing.
Or
Mike Vrabel
Or
Robert Saleh
True.... what's the beef with Steve Wilks 🤔
I agree we should wait till the end of the season
