That was sarcasm I figured all the “subtle” hints referencing that game would have made that clear but I guess not.

Haha sorry. It was late and my brain, what little function it normally has, was reduced

Playing AR behind a 2nd String OL and 2nd String WRs wouldn’t be helping him. Against 2nd string D Players trying to impress enough to make their team…. Good way to get him hurt, possible late hits, , IMO.

That wouldn’t happen.  If AR played the rest of the starting offense would play.  That also probably factored into him not playing as well.

i would be less concerned about late hits, that’s not going to impress NFL coaches and frankly would hurt someone’s chance to make a team.  I’d be more concerned about teaching AR he can get away with things he can’t against lesser competition than he will see once the season starts.

Uhhh is that maybe what the joint practices were for? Plenty of reps vs another team. Whether it's on the practice field or preseason game is irrelevant.

And to say he is rusty because he did not light the world on fire in two series (7 snaps) is a bit extreme. He has seemed to look quite good the last two days from all reports.

This would make a good entry of the Training Camp for Dummies.

I’ll also say I don’t think AR is going to succeed or fail this season because he does or doesn’t play a quarter of pre-season football.

    • Weather should be clear and in the high 70s. They have to get JT and the TEs more involved and of course be much better against the run.
    • Reasoning tells me that the youngest, least experienced QB in the league, with so many other young developing hopefuls still developing, that finishing. 500 this season is a tall order. I do not expect it at all.  If we haven't come a long way by seasons end, then I will reevaluate.  Irsay and the girls will do the same with their own Reasonable high expectations.   BTW, there is a strong recent history of good young coaches delivering big things in their 3rd year.   This board needs a whiners thread for those that can't see the "bigger picture". The wasted years of Frank are OVER. It's a coaching and to a degree roster Reset!!!!  Get over it!   I would venture that Gus will have a good shot at being fired in season.
    • It shows that a good pass rush is not enough to win games. We go to Stroud a few times and a few big time sacks to get of the field but an F grade of run defense
    • I’ll say this, if this defense can’t come out and absolutely dominate Malik Willis and make him look how every other NFL team has (he once played a full preseason game and only put up 80 yards passing) then Bradley will need to be relived of his duties.
