I wonder if the Colts are still content with their decision to release Darius Rush.

They let him go because they felt Jones the 7th rounder was playing better. Guess we will find out if he is NFL starter caliber this weekend.

By your rating? Looked up 5 different ratings and all 5 had him in the top 10. (ESPN,CBS sports, NFL.com, Fox Sports and PFF)

Lawrence  has not been good this year. Cj Stroud  is better than Lawrence  so far this year and he is a rookie

Check the numbers. He’s not that this year.

We all have our own opinions on players based on our knowledge.  I respect that you’ve assessed Lawrence as not a top 10 QB.  My opinion differs.  I believe that over 22 teams would take him in a heartbeat, which puts him in the top 10.  That’s fine if you believe otherwise.  It does make me curious as to which 10 teams would pass on him in your opinion?

So he's off to a slower start this year than last and you're saying he's still rated 12th. That sounds like he's probably Top Ten -- or very close to it.

I was talking preseason ratings based on past years performance. According to your ratings Purdy is the best QB in the league followed by Mayfield and Goff meaning all three are Better QBs than Mahomes and Allen. I believe there is 32 GMs and several million fans who would disagree with you, At the start of the year several publication put out their list of the top QBs in the league and Mahomes was 1st and Lawrence ranked 7 or 8 depending on the 5 I listed.

I just looked up the QB ratings and 3rd year starter Lawrence is 17th with an 89 rating while 3rd game rookie Richardson is 22nd with an 85.4 rating. Pretty darn close.  As for QBR, they’re reversed and Richardson is 17th & Lawrence is 22nd.  Those were ESPN stats. So show me where these others had him top 10 and by what metrics?

I was talking  actually  rankings.  Of course  preseason  he was projected to be top 10. He may still finish top 10 by seasons end but currently  he is playing  worse than last year

    • Yeah, like Bo Nix??     So much over reaching for QBs.
    • The Matt Gay hate is a convenient outlet for Chris Ballard hate. Which explains why it's mostly unreasonable.   However, I don't understand why they're putting him out there right now. He's evidently hurt, and he needs some time to get right.
    • Speaking of Baker:   I've been skeptical that Bryce Young can overcome the marks against him, so I'm not exactly waiting for him to turn it on. But I was skeptical about Baker as well, for different reasons. He never looked as ineffective and incapable as Bryce has looked so far, but he's a good example of a player who a) was in a bad situation, and b) still had to get better at QBing.
    • Well, I thought the Olubi kid showed some solid play making ability with good tackling so i'm surprised they pushed rookie Carlies, who missed a fair amount of time, ahead of him so quickly. So one could say the position has been addressed by drafting a LB each of the last 2 seasons with guys our people like.  Carlies did play 46 snaps Sunday. Like our other Gus led LB's he didn't seem to be where he needed to be when needed. But what the hey, that becomes much more likely when you have 2-3 seasons under your belt, With a d-line playing well in front of you.     It wouldn't surprise me at all if Williams throws for 250+ with 3 touchdowns. The little devil on my shoulder tells me it would be a good thing, just another nail in Gus's coffin. And of course that is a sad place to be. lol
    • If the past two seasons have shown anything, it's that you can never fully write off a QB based off of limited information. The NFL journey can be a long one.    Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold... All written off as failures just a few years ago.    @Superman and I have spoken for years on how the surrounding organization plays as much of a role in the success of a QB as traits and abilities.
