Being a head coach is the ultimate accomplishment for an NFL coach.

His pay would probably increase by 500-600%.

Why would he leave? The same reasons every assistant coach leaves for a bigger job. The same reasons he left Dallas.

???

not always about money for everyone. Indy is a safe nice city and he has job security not being a head coach. there all college coaches who want nothing to do with NFL pressures.

He has no deep ties to Indy, and shouldn’t be expected to be loyal after only one season. How many of you would turn down your dream job with a 5-8x pay increase?

The Colts showed loyalty to him by keeping him and the other assistants McDaniels wanted.  They easily could have cut ties with him and let Reich pick his own assistants.  He might have had a hard time finding a similar position after that McDaniels fiasco.  He just might feel some loyalty to the Colts for honoring his contract and showing faith in him.

You offered the money as a rationale for him staying. It's an established fact that he'd get more money to leave.

You're also talking as if there's any indication from him that he doesn't want to be an NFL head coach. This is the same guy who turned down a safe, secure extension from the Cowboys because he wanted a legit shot at a coordinator position. Most likely, he wants to continue to advance his career, just like the majority of NFL coaches.

I'm not saying he's going to jump at the first job opening, but it seems delusional to think that he'd turn down a head coaching job because "Indy is a safe nice city and he has job security."

Bowen did say, after covering him and being around him for a year, that he questions whether he would really want to be a head coach.

Some coaches don't want the responsibility.  They just want to be hands on and coach, not oversee the whole operation.
