IIRC from a number of Colts games, Triplett was possibly the worst official in the league.

officials are paid to do exactly as they are told. They are experts..but it has nothing to do with honesty

My uncle Frank used to tell people "your only as honest as your boss".

I always get a kick out of it that every time the announcer introduces "well, let's ask our rules expert here, Mr. blah blag, to give us his opinion on that play". They're never THERE on the mic and ready to talk. They always sound like they'er coming from another room, stumble to get the mic on then awkwardly inform us of their opinion.

 

Are they watching the game, or watching replays, trying to catch up with the game?

Maybe they have to check in to see what they're supposed to say?

 

I'm joking, but it always seems so awkward. Almost as though they're surprised the teacher called on them.
