Thank God for the bye week he'll be back by week 12

Not necessarily.  Some people take weeks/months to recover.  Others in a few days.  And it never seems to correlate to how 'big' the hit seemed to be.  I've seen what appeared to be minor hits take many weeks.  Other major impacts, and the player breezes through all the concussion steps without recurring symptoms.  You never know.

Our Qbs are risking  themselves playing behind a horrible line.

Especially when they have to hurriedly scramble out of the pocket.  They 'lose' the protection then ( 'defenseless player ).  that's why they have to slide, and do it early enough to still not get walloped.

He's not gonna miss a game in 2 weeks from a concussion alot players come back the next week unless it's a thursday night game

I could see Colts drafting either one of the top OT in draft moving AC to RT if he is retained I believe he is a FA.

If there is a "cant miss" LT available in draft, i dont onow how we pass.  Unless a stud pass rusher falls?

If we can find a LT or RT, a guard, and upgrade LB corps, i'll be happy. That is doable.  Rd 1 is hopefully OL, MLB, or some pass rush specialist.  OL isnt a sexy pick, but could have the biggest impact.

There's no guarantee he clears the protocol in time to take #1 reps in practice to prepare for the game.  He could, he may not.  We'll see.  And there is a defined protocol with 5 steps that must be followed, or the team might lose draft picks (and be fined).

1. Rest and recovery: A player is removed from all team meetings, electronic devices and social media, focusing instead on simple physical activities like stretching and balance work. He leaves this phase when he returns to the "baseline" of signs and symptoms.

2. Light aerobic exercise: This includes riding a stationary bike or working on a treadmill without resistance. The NFL recommends 10 to 20 minutes of this per day, monitored by a trainer to see if concussive symptoms appear.

3. Continued aerobic exercise and introduction of strength training: The cardiovascular work increases in length and intensity, and strength training is added, with a trainer still monitoring for behavioral signs.

4. Football-specific activities: The player can return to non-contact football activities for up to a full practice.

5. Full football activity/clearance: Once the team and an independent neurologist clears a player to return, he can regain all the former responsibilities, including playing a full game.

Hopefully JB clears this all by next Monday.

If you go over to ESPN, ESPN has a headline = Colts Criticized for concussion protocol regarding Brissett. I swear ESPN hates us, I really believe that. Brissett was cleared to go back into the game by doctors and passed protocol after being in the tent, why the hell should anyone criticize the Colts??

Read the caption, and watch this.  It will be much more clear then.

Dear God....

When will you ever stop with the "I swear ESPN hates us."       If you seriously think that,  then you just don't know how the media works.

ESPN is not -- repeat, NOT -- criticizing the Colts.

ESPN is reporting the news.    They are not making the news.    There's an obvious difference.

But the guy who examines CTE in brains at Boston University is criticizing the NFL for its concussion protocol.    He's saying Brissett obviously suffered a concussion and should not have been cleared to go back into the game.    And he said so in real time,  not after the game when it was announced that Brissett was concused.     The guy said it right when it happened.

And Brissett was cleared TWICE.    By a Colts doctor,  and an independent doctor.     The person doing the criticizing, is an expect,  and he's saying what the NFL is doing is a joke.

Here's the story:

This happens a lot with other teams but ESPN just finds it convenient to report a headline when it's us. I am no dum dum and realize they are just doing the reporting but when was the last time they have reported anything positive about the Colts. Maybe I am sick of their act saying/reporting things like Andrew Luck isn't happy in Indy or that we are ruining his career. No facts behind what they say most of the time about us. Explain that about ESPN then when the horse dung isn't true. People that work for ESPN are saying those things in articles and on live TV.

You notice these things because you're a Colts fan, so you notice all Colts related stories.     And since we're having a terrible season, the majority of the stories are naturally going to negative.

But what you and others don't pay sttrntion to are stories about other teams.  So other teams doing poorly also have mostly negative stories written about them.    But you don't see that as clearly because your focus is on the Colts.

By the way, you're not the only Colts fan who does this.   Many others do as well.   Thus is particularly common on this website.    I'm not trying to be hard on you and I know full well that you're not dumb.   You're a good fan and poster.    You just have a blind spot on the media as most fans do.

Fair enough and thanks for the complement. I should've actually worded my original Post better by saying any chance ESPN gets they will report something negative against us. I realize they weren't the one's critical of us but they jumped on the headline/story is what I meant. I really didn't think it was a big deal at the time because Brissett went to the Tent and got cleared by Docs to come back in. What Russell Wilson did was much worse, he didn't get cleared and came back in.

If I may.....

Thursday night, Seattle played and Russell Wilson had the same problem as Brissett.    Got his bell rung,  and somehow passed a concussion protcol test (if he took it at all)

I just looked it up and here is one of THREE Russell Wilson-Seattle Seahawk concussion stories that ESPN ran over two days.      If a team is involved in a concussion story --- ANY TEAM --- then ESPN is covering it.     It's a big story to every team,  not just the Colts.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21384389/seattle-seahawks-violated-concussion-protocol-allowing-russell-wilson-re-enter-game

Colts fans likely wouldn't have paid much attention to that because it's not Colts related.

ESPN has no reason to be beating up the Colts.    I know it may feel like it to some Colts fans,  but they don't because there's no reason to.

Thanks because I didn't even see that story over at ESPN. Maybe all the negative talk about Luck is just getting to me my friend.

The doctors clear the player or don't clear him. That is not on the coach.

Not only that, but the Doctors are independent, not affiliated with either team and hired by the NFL.  they have the say so, and if he went on the field, then they would have to had cleared him.  Seattle is in hot water and may be fined 150,000 plus more because they didn't put Russell into the clearance procedure last Thursday night during that game.
