Oakland (+3) at Kansas City (12-8-16)

8:25 ST......Al Michaels (back off vacation I guess) Cris Collinsworth and Heather Cox on NBC and the NFL Network

Low 20s, upper teens in Kansas City...over-under 46.5

The old American Football League's most bitter rivalry......the 113th meeting features Oakland QB Derek Carr (300 of 458, 3,375 yards, 24 TDs, 5 interceptions)

throwing to WR Amari Cooper (68 catches, for 981 yards) and Eric Crabtree (67 catches, 785 yards)

.........against a KC defense that 25 sacks and 14 interceptions

...Carr throws 38 times a game but he's been sacked just 12 times..a test for KV OLB Dee Ford (10 sacks)

KC QB Alex (Game Manager) Smith (250 of 371, 2,567 yards, 11 Tds and 4 interceptions) and he'll either throw to TE Travis Kelce (65 catches for 815 yards) or throw it away before Oakland's Khalil Mack (10 sacks) stomps him

KC cant run the ball...1,185 yards in 12 games.....but the defense wins with 25 takeaways..

RV Spencer Ware (163 carries, 754 yards) has been playing hurt but he'll to do so again Thursday.  Chiefs have 6 return (kick or pick) TDs

Chiefs bad stat: Chiefs have 29 TDs and 25 field goals

Raiders bad stat:  Oakland leads the NFL with 112 penalties for 932 yards.

Chiefs bad stat: Chiefs have been held to 20 or less 5 times

Raiders bad stat: Oakland has allowed 4,676 yards in 12 games.

A Raider (10-2) win puts them 2 game s up on KC ...with road games at San Diego and at Denver (8-4) left

KC (9-3) topped Oakland 26-10 eight weeks ago so a KC win gives KC the division lead on the series sweep.

Oakland cant come in here and throw the ball 35-40 times and win and I don't think they can run on KC either.

But the Chiefs kick a lot of field goals........This might be a 3-point game

in sub freezing weather, I'd take the 'under' here....

Brutally cold there with the wind too! Tough game to call here, I would stay away from it if anyone wants to bet on it. Chiefs beat them in Oakland so Oakland will be out for revenge but playing at Arrowhead in the cold is very tough. Oakland has the better QB but Chiefs have the better all-around team. This game could end up in a 20-20 tie.

I'll take the Raiders. Besides, I hope they can get homefield over the Patriots.

Most I see are taking the Chiefs everywhere so I am going with the underdog.

I also read that oddly enough, the road team often wins in this divisional rivarly.

Players swear that once the game starts, the cold doesn't matter.

  I never played...but I think they're lying

The starters are right,   the guys on the bench certainly know.   But the heated benches and down feather coats make it much easier

I now the QBs have heat packs in their pouches..and the lineman probably have them in the uniforms.

I dont know if there's such a thing as heated gloves.

I'm always amazed at how well QBs throw the ball in super cold.

Like I say..I never played or even stood on the sidelines in 23 degrees...

To be fair yeah the Chiefs have come back in games this year too.

Meh Alex Smith just UGH, I try so hard to like him but he can be like "the watching grass grow" version of a QB.

I thought that Denver and Atlanta had them beat the last 2 weeks but I thought wrong
