I'll go along with you when thinking of WRs in the vain of Calvin Johnson and going back to the likes of Lynn Swan.

However there are the other type of recievers, usually small and crafty you can't ignore.

True Welker was avg in Miami but did they use him right? BB saw talent there that could be used right.

Fact is regardless of Brady (or any top QB) Welker runs outstanding routes,is hard to find because of his size, and changes direction well so much he is hard to cover regardless who's throwing to him.

No he's not the type that stretches the field but that doesn't take away from what he does do at a high level.

He's still the go to and #1 WR on NE.

3rd down WR...much like Troy Brown's success except Welker is better. Nor does he drop balls like some of those big ones.
