Never understood why he was hired. No one can beat what Jim Harbaugh did that to that franchise.

He didn't do that bad of a job, but neither did the coach who'd had all winning seasons with the 49ers before him so Idk...

I always saw Jim Tomsula as a weird one. During interviews, he looked uneasy. Not like Bill Belichick who hates interviews, but I mean Tomsula looked nervous. There was something really "off" about that guy. He looked like someone you'd see in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.

I just don't understand where this guy came from anyways.  49er's seemed desperate to hire him, he was just a positional coach and then all of a sudden he's HC.

 

Honestly I think what happened with Harbaugh there turned off so many legitimate candidates that none of them wanted to walk into that dumpster fire and they had to grab some positional coach to do the job.

 

Now they are probably hoping that everyone will just have forgotten about the whole Harbaugh thing and they can hire a legitimate candidate.

Yeah...let the internet think whatever they want to think about Harbaugh, atleast his coaching peers knew what a crock it was/is.

Yes, interviews never appeared to be Jim Tomsula's strong suit. The guy just looked way out of his element. I never was sold on him. He just doesn't ooze confidence to me. Plus, he just had no charisma talking to the media at all like a coach who had trouble communicating basic sentences once a microphone was placed in front of him.
