but losing TY would blow and I don't mind letting Fleener walk but I think Allen will have a good year this year so losing him would suck too

Yeah, me neither, but worse case scenario could still yeild us a couple mid round picks.

I think several of those QB's are going to be available, and teams will not resign them or pick up the option year. Eli Manning has had two hot runs for SB's, but is he worth 20M. Griffin unless he is super this year will not get his option picked up. I don't know what will happen with Rivers, but it should make the draft interesting early on.

One name as far as QB's who is not on there who I think will be a FA is Drew Brees. He counts about 27.5 against the cap next year, and is not signed for 2017. Plus letting him go next year saves 20M in cap space, and they are in rebuilding mode, made obvious by all the trades and players let go this year. I wonder who picks him up, since I don't know how many years he has left. He is 35 this year.

I wish we would get Hilton's deal done this summer, because all those receivers I would want are not going to be available, but it will be a good FA season next year. Trouble is, once Hilton, Luck, Fleener, Allen, and Castonzo are resigned, I don't know what kind of cap we will have left. Anyone familiar with what our cap should look like if we take into account Hilton-10M, Luck-22M, Fleener and Allen-5M each a yr. and Castonzo 8M a year. It may be a couple million low, but using those as measuring sticks, What will our cap look like. I know as far as rookies, we will only need about 1M per over the cap to sign all our rookies due to the lateness of picks, and then we have to release players to put them on the squad. I would love at least the suggestion of what our cap space will be after signing all our stars next offseason. Structuring is a different matter, and will impact it, but we can't really worry about that since we just don't know. Just want to know if we will have money to pursue any FA's. We have a ton of cap space next year it looks like thank goodness, but after the signings, who knows????

If we are still having problem with LB's and have any money, Baltimore will wait to sign there FA's, as they always wait to see offers, and then look for the comps. plus I am surprised Lavonte David has not been extended. Many of these FA's won't be here after the summer, extensions are usually done in the summer, after June 1 cuts. Still would love Hightower. Would like Wagner more, but he is Seattle's highest priority to get resigned after Wilson.

I'd rather have Fleener over Allen because of injuries but we'll see

I get your point as Fleener has been able to stay on the field when Allen has not. However there is a huge difference in their overall games. Allen is the complete TE that most teams look for when they draft. He is a receiving threat especially in the endzone, but can also line up on the line of scrimmage and run block with the best of them. Now Fleener is the better receiving threat (deep threat) and is starting to come on as of late, but if I had to choose one I would probably go with Allen because of his all around game.

Let's keep em both ;)

That is better thinking ha as I would like to keep both too as they compliment each other well, as long as we don't overpay Fleener. He is pretty much a one trick pony and with our power run offense we need TEs that can run block. I will give Fleener credit though his run blocking has been getting better slowly although it is still not good, it is better than what it used to be.

Most of these players are very unlikely to hit free agency.

I didn't cross out either of our TEs because there's a chance that we let both of them play out their contracts, then choose one of them to keep. A chance, maybe not a good one. If Allen didn't have some injuries, I'd expect him to be an automatic keep.

I expect our free agents to be extended before the season starts.

I would hope so but, with Pagano playing out his contract you don't think that some of our free agent moves become a bit more complicated and treated as a "wait and see" situation? I could see that being the case for Vinny, Freeman, and Toler. I think Vinny is probably done after this season. Toler is meh stay or go.

The only two locks I see are TY and Costanzo. TEs are a close second and if they don't come back... our offense will struggle.

The only ones I was thinking about were the young guys. I think Vinny is done. Freeman isn't critical. Toler can go.

I think AC and Hilton are definitely locks. The TEs are probably locks, but I said above that I could letting them play out their deals and picking one to keep.

I don't think any of this is going to be affected significantly by Pagano's contract status. If you offer any of these guys a long term deal, I don't think they're going to say "yeah, that looks good, but let me wait and see what Pagano does." I think they'd sign on the line that is dotted.

Honestly I don't think we could afford to lose AC, TY, Fleener or Allen.  Unbeknownst to many people Fleener has been a top 10 TE for the last 2 years in terms of receiving yards.  Allen is a redzone guy and a great blocker.

If we draft a CB high I'd let Toler walk.  Also we could consider letting Freeman walk as well.  Vinny I think it's def. time to let him walk and find ourselves a younger kicker.

Don't think we should do much in FA next year, just extend our current guys and draft well for the next 2 years.  We need to start replacing our expensive free agent players with players that we drafted.
