Buy or Sell: Lockout/offseason Edition

Potentially buy. Seeing as he played about 4 downs in 2010, would it really surprise anyone to not see him this year?

Buy or Sell: Bob Sanders will be on the IR by week 10.

 Sell, I don't think he will be on IR this year. He will miss some games, but he won't be IR'ed.

Buy or Sell - The Colts lead the NFL with 7 players in the Pro Bowl

Sell, I say 5 or 6, but not 7 (Manning, Freeney, Mathis, Wayne, Saturday, and maybe Bethea)

Buy or Sell: Viniteri kicks 2 game winners for the Colts this year.

Buy. I think we're going to have another season full of close, and comeback wins.

Buy or Sell: The Jets will finish no better than 10-6, and are likely to miss the playoffs.

Sell. I see them as an 11-12 win team and they will make it in as a Wild Card.

Buy or Sell - Matt Stafford starts all 16 games

I'd like to buy, but I'm going to have to sell. Until he proves that he can I'm not buying.

Buy or Sell: Lions will be a force to be reckon with this upcoming season, maybe challenge for playoffs.

Buy/sell I think they are vastly improved but I think the Bears and Packers make it out of that devision.

Buy or Sell: Hughes has more than 5 sacks this season

Buy, buy, buy. That defensive line is going to be NASTY. Nasty, nasty, nasty. That SHOULD give them enough of an edge to propel them past Chicago in the division. But they're going to have to play at absolute top level through all 16 games because at least two teams in the NFC east, three from the NFC South, and three in their own division are going to be in play for playoff spots. I really don't see them winning the division, but it ISN'T impossible. They NEED Stafford to get fully healthy, though. The Saints used to be my favorite NFC team. The whole Super Bowl thing put a quick end to that, and the Vikings diddling with Favre turned me off to them, and I decided my new favorite NFC team is the Lions this offseason.

Buy or Sell: The Miami Dolhpins will be one of the worst teams in the AFC.

Buy, he definitely will, he has a contract and without him we would need to do some reshuffling which is something the Colts don't want.

Sell. For reasons I will detail later.

The fact that Diem has a contract is really kind of meaningless for his roster spot on opening day. In fact, I would argue that the high price of his contract is reason why he could be gone. And if Diem plays like he did last year, I would think the Colts can't wait to do some reshuffling.

Diem's age + high contract + unsteady play in 2010 + drafting of Castonzo & Ijalana + decent play of Link in the playoff game = Diem getting cut

This is particularly so if they re-sign CJ.

Sell, I don't see him getting much playing time, same as last year. Hope he does though.

They won't be the worst (Bengals will be IMO), but they'll be pretty bad. Soo I guess that's a buy!

Buy or Sell: Chiefs will win the AFC West, again.

Sell, I'm not entirely sold on Cassel quite yet. I can't see the Chargers having so many special team errors 2 years in a row. Chargers take that division.

Buy or Sell - The Colts and Pats finish #1 and #2 (in either order) in the AFC

Hard one, I'm going to sell just because there are to many factors involved.

Buy or sell: The Colts have at least one starter, next season, who is not currently on the roster.

Buy, I'm hoping they bring someone in for kickoff and punt returns. Blair White showed some potential, but I don't think he is fast enough for it.

Buy or Sell - The Colts defense finishes top 5 in scoring

Sell, I think another top 10 is in store.

Buy or Sell: Colts combine for over 1500 yards rushing (all running backs).

Buy - Addai at 1000ish/Brown just under 1000.

Buy or Sell - Peyton gets a rushing TD this year?

Sell - he is getting older in age and I don't think the team wants him to do QB sneaks anymore. Unless he pulls off another one of these...man, that's wicked every time I see it. Dierdorf is wrong if you ask me, he slid to keep the clock moving, not to prevent an injury. He could have easily scored the TD.

Buy or Sell - The Colts D gets a safety (the 2 pts, not the position)

Sell, those rarely happen. I can't even really think of the last time the Colts have gotten a safety? Last one I can remember is 3-4 years ago against Jacksonville when Freeney sacked Garrard/Some other Jag QB can't remember lol.

Buy or Sell: Colts defense scores 2 TDs next year.

    • You know who is also kicking better?   Chase McLaughlin.
    • Not trying to over simplify but it is pretty simple. SS calls plays that he believes will work against a certain defense and he has confidence his players will execute that play. The results right now are that his players are NOT capable of executing those plays on a consistent basis enough to win games. The only question moving forward is, do we have good enough players to start to execute more consistently or not and is SS making it as easy as possible for players to be consistent. It's not just a talent thing. It's a attitude and smart thing and then the level of talent. Most of the time, the best players are the smartest players with the right attitude. How talented they are is a bonus. My point, i question our teams attitude and football intelligence as much as I question their talent. Ex.....Stopping the run is as much attitude as it is talent. A big part of why JT is JT, is because of his intellegence.
    • Thanks for the updates.  I made my "first pass" projected picks based on where the players are ranked on tankathon right now.  Obviously, subject to change!
    • He hasn't  been that good other than the 1 game he won last year.
    • The biggest problem is that the rest of the team is playing like trash around the rookie QB.    Of course the essentially rookie QB that has played 6 NFL games is going to be a rollercoaster.  He's known to have accuracy issues, and is for some reason being forced to be a pocket passer.    When the highest paid O-line in the league can't block, that's problem.  When the WR's can't catch passes that bounce off their hands, that's a problem.  When the highly invested in $$ D-Line (like 5 1st or 2nd rd players) can't block and LB's get consistenly washed, that's a problem.  When the highest paid kicker in the league can't kick and gets hurt constantly, that's a problem.  When the defensive scheme is to "bend not break" but the bends are to the tune of 100 yards a series, that's a problem.   Now's the time to strike in other areas while you have a QB on a rookie contract. Actually, this all should've been figured out already by the GM and all positions should've been rock solid by now.
