Womack

"I'm never gonna get cut again"

That was the quote when the Colts claimed Samuel Womack off waivers from the 49'ers back in September.

And he's made good on his promise.

Due to injury (and incompetent play), the Colts have wound up starting Womack 4 games this year.

On a team that has allowed a combined 70% pass completion to all opposing quarterbacks, Womack has allowed only a staggering 33%.  He's 2nd on the team with 5 passes broken up.  He doesn't have any interceptions, unlike his counterpart Jaylon Jones who has 2, but he also hasn't whiffed his tackles as much either, with only 1 to his name.

JuJu Brents had better be sweating.  He may not have a job when he gets back from his latest injury!

He has played great.   I would assume JJ will see the bench if Juju gets healthy

Unless JJ continues to play well down the stretch.  Steichen was very complementary of his play to date.  Brents might follow the path of Wilson and Hooker.  To be determined.

It's never bad to have depth .

Womack was really good with the 49ers.

Until they moved him inside. Then the wheels fell off. Instead of going back to what had worked for him, they just kept trying to mash the square peg in the round hole and it just did not work.

He should be the perfect fit here on the outside.  Looks like Ballard found another keeper like Kenny.  Just find them.  That’s what matters.

Their fans hated he was cut and echoed what you said, keep him outside where he is very good as opposed to slot which his body frame would suggest BUT where he struggled. We have a keeper and I think David Long will start showing his worth as well.
