oldunclemark
the only thing we CANNOT do this weekend is trade away next year's No.1 draft choice. There is no one player anyone can offer us who is worth that. There is also no 2012 pick anyone can trade us this year that is worth that.///We most likely will not do well this season....but no matter how we do..the No.1 pick next year combined with the new regime one year down the road could propel us back to playoff-land.We cant trade it this weekend/.No how. No way.
Balzer40
I wouldn't worry about that even being a remote possibility. We won't trade next yrs. 1st rder..
HtownColt
It's possible for Michael Brockers just like Atlanta did for Julio Jones..but doubt it will happen

HtownColt
Your basically just using your no.1 pick this year instead of next year..but I do like that Teo lb from notre dame that's going to come out next year

chad72
I dont know, if Donta Hightower is available at No.28 with the Packers, I would give up the No.34 and swap our fourth round picks with the Packers to draft him before the Ravens get their hands on him. An ILB like that can anchor our D's LB corp for years to come.
Balzer40
Who do you see next year your so high on?It don't matter who's available next yr.. The Colts could very likely be in the posistion to draft one of the top QB's coming out next yr. and we obviously won't need them so we could trade that pick for a ransom like the skins gave up to get RG3. Thats why you don't even think about trading next yrs. 1st rder.. It would be unbelievably stupid.
HtownColt
We won't be the worse team in the league so we won't have a chance to trade that for teams who want Matt Barkley

oldunclemark
Who do you see next year your so high on?We dont know about individuals fro next year, yet....But if we are No.1 or No. 2....we could trade that pick for 3 or 4 picks//./We wont need Matt Barkley (USC)..so next year is our time to trade down for max picks and build a playoff team

There will be more than one QB coming out that teams will lick their chops over.Tell the Falcons and saints that when they traded theirs for Julio Jones and Mark IngramI would tell them that. Both of which were not worth what they gave up to get them. Another big difference is, both of those teams knew they wouldn't be picking in the top 4-8 picks of the draft. Very likely the Colts will be picking somewhere around there.
nburgmei
There is no one player anyone can offer us who is worth that.If the Lions wanted to give us either Suh or C.J. I would give up the #1 pick. However, that's not realistic so no, I wouldn't likely give up the pick for any reason.

Boiler_Colt
There are potentially 5 first round QB's that could make our pick trade bait next year wherever it is. Throw in a stud receiver like Robert Woods, a stud RB in Marcus Lattimore, and a first round loaded with 3-4 defensive talent. No way in heck would I trade next year's first. icf
I also want them to keep the next years #1 pick, as it will likely be a top 5 selection, and after a year they can get a better feel for where the team needs stand at that point.

icf
what if we traded our first round pick for justin blackmon or trent richardson? would that be good enough?the thing is....those teams aren't going to trade their #1 this year for the Colts #1 next year straight up.It would have to be something like next year's #1, this year's #2 and likely some additional picks in order to trade up high enough to get blackmon or richardson. That's why it won't happen.
