 Colts @ Jacksonville 12/29/19

game time has been flexed to 4:25 pm

The reason the games time was changed is because, at this point,

the Steelers are still mathematically alive, yet need the Colts help.

From Steelers website:

The NFL announced Sunday that it will be flexing the Week 17 Steelers-Ravens game at M&T Bank Stadium from 1 p.m. to 4:25 p.m. You can catch it on CBS.

Also of note to Steelers fans: Two games that could help determine Pittsburgh’s playoff fate — Texans-Titans and Colts-Jaguars — were also moved to 4:25 p.m. next Sunday and will also be broadcast on CBS.

The Texans-Titans game is important because if Pittsburgh beats Baltimore, they will make the playoffs if Houston also beats Tennessee. The 10-5 Texans have the AFC South locked up, so all they have left to play for at this point is seeding.

Tennessee, on the other hand, has the same record as the Steelers and is also on a two-game losing streak. Their path to the playoffs is even more straightforward than the Steelers: Beat Houston and they’re in. They control their own destiny, a luxury the Steelers forfeited with their 16-10 loss to the Jets earlier today.

Then there’s Colts-Jaguars, which is important because the Steelers can still sneak into the playoffs if they lose, the Titans lose AND the Colts beat the Jaguars. At that point, all three teams will have the same record (8-8), the Colts will have a tiebreaker over the Titans and the Steelers will have one over the Colts due to their victory over Indianapolis earlier this season.
