If he comes available (I dont see us trading, but maybe?) Id think we'd jump all over this

Rishard Matthews was released and would make a good WR2 for us, IMO.

Agreed. Its clear we need WR help, and Id jump all over the chance at this point for any sort of help at that position. I honestly feel like we're a WR2 and a healthy tackle away from this Offense exploding

I do think he's a pretty good player.  But of course I know Ballard is very particular about locker room culture and the type of player he brings into the organization. Quitting during the season isn't particurlarly appealing.

He's not particularly fast so my concern is are we really just getting Ryan Grant all over gain?  Matthews was more of a possession type guy for them I believe.  A pretty good possession guy I will say that .

I don't think he quit on the Titans, he just asked to be included in more targets, or be released.  Tennessee agreed to the latter.  Paperwork (that has not yet been approved through the league office yet) was drawn up and sent.  His missed/excused practice was to not jeopardize get injured pending his mutually agreed to release to Free Agency approval.  There was certainly 'some deal' worked out, but I'm not sure if full details will come out. He had fired his agent and negotiated his own extension, prior to being left out of much of the game plan/targets.

 

Does he fit?  Our Pro Player director Kevin Rogers (and possibly Jon Shaw and Joey Elliott too) has no doubt already been on the phone with Ballard with his/their assessment, pro or con.  We'll see.
