Peak of the defense this season

Weeks 8-11 our defense was pretty healthy.They had time to mesh in practice and I think it showed in their play.

Our defense in weeks 8-11 accomplished...

-Held teams to an average of 21 points

-Limited L. Bell to 80 yards

-Held A. Brown to 47 yards

-Held D. Hopkins to 86 yards

-Limited QB's to an average of 220.5 yards a game

 

Maybe it was just Luck, but for a couple weeks i saw hope in the defense for the first time in a while.

Now all we need is consistency.

Gurley to 19 for 41

Crowell to 12 for 44

Hyde to 8 for 11

Murray to 12 for 40

Mixon to 11 for 18

Murray to 12 for 9

Fournette to 20 for 57

 

Pretty good if you ask me. only 3 RBs really got the best of us this year imo

I wonder if McCoy would have rushed for more or less yards if they didn't have to play in a foot of snow.

There were a couple or three garbage runs, like Henry’s at the end of the game, that skew the totals.  Run defense was probably top ten without them.

when your d is on the field the whole game its hard to tell what you have

defense would have been even better if the offense would have helped them

Henry did nothing until 4th quarter both times and shady had like 30 carries

Shady averaged 5 ypc

If it wasn't played in the snow he would've had less carries and no where near the numbers he had and he had a few decent runs that boosted him YPC but still our defense improved and it was year one of a rebuild

I'm not saying our run defense didn't improve.

I'm saying Shady was one of the few to beat it this year.

He had an injury in the game, ankle I believe. Brieda got a lot of the carries.

If the offense could stay on the field and not leave the D on the field for a half a game, the defensive numbers would look even better. 

 

If we had actual ILB's and a pass rusher, woowee.
