First Round Mock

Recommended Posts

1. Browns - DE Myles Garrett
Garrett is a monster athlete and it would take a lot for the Browns to have the audacity to pass up on him.
2. 49ers - DE Solomon Thomas
Adds pass rush and help to stop the run.  49ers had the worst run defense last year.
3. Bears - S Jamal Adams
Bears had the 7th worst pass defense and 6th worst run defense.  Adams has all the tools to help in both categories.
4. Jaguars - HB Leonard Fournette
Yeldon is still young, but having Fournette in the backfield will help take some of the pressure off of Bortles.
5. Titans - CB Marshon Lattimore
Titans had the 3rd worst pass defense last year.  The best CB in the draft should help that problem.
6. Jets - TE O.J. Howard
Jets tight ends combined for 18 catches last year.  Jets need a solid tight end and Howard is the best one in the draft.
7. Chargers - S Malik Hooker
No team could pass up a ball-hawking safety like Hooker at this part of the draft.
8. Panthers - WR John Ross
While I think this could be too early for Ross, he would be a deep threat that Cam Newton once had in Ted Ginn.
9. Bengals - DE Jonathan Allen

The Bengals can't pass up Top 5 talent at #9.
10. Bills - WR Corey Davis

Bills need another WR.  Their only real WR threat is Sammy Watkins, who's injured a lot.
11. Saints - DE Derek Barnett

Saints need help getting to the QB.
12. Browns - QB Mitchell Trubisky

Browns have an interest in Trubisky at #1, but they should be able to get him at #12.
13. Cardinals - ILB Reuben Foster

Their ILBs consist of Buchanon and an aging Dansby.  Foster would be a great pick up for the future of their ILB group.
14. Eagles - CB Gareon Conley

Eagles need a solid corner to help solidify their secondary.
15. Colts - LB Haason Reddick

Reddick will continue the revamp of the linebacking corps.
16. Ravens - WR Mike Williams

Ravens need another WR to play alongside Wallace and Perriman after the retirement of Smith Sr.
17. Redskins - S Jabrill Peppers

Peppers is a dynamic defender that will bolster the safety group.
18. Titans - DE Takarrist McKinley

Titans could go CB here, but with a deep class of CBs, it would be hard to pass up McKinley.  He would a nice addition as a 3-4 OLB to the Titans defense.
19. Buccaneers - HB Christian McCaffrey

With uncertainties at HB with Martin and Sims, Bucs could add McCaffrey to improve the run game and be a passing option in the slot.
20. Broncos - OT Ryan Ramczyk

The Broncos need offensive line help badly, especially at OT.  Ramczyk will help improve this weak O-line.
21. Lions - LB Jarrad Davis

Outside of Whitehead, the linebacking corps needs more pieces.  Davis should be a Day 1 starter for the Lions.
22. Dolphins - DE Taco Charlton

Dolphins need more edge rush, especially since Jordan and Williams didn't work out.
23. Giants - DT Malik McDowell

With the loss of Hankins, the Giants could use another body on the D-line.
24. Raiders - HB Dalvin Cook

While it appears that Lynch will be heading to the Raiders, the Raiders need to add a young RB to the mix.
25. Texans - OT Garrett Bolles

Their defense is set but have questions at QB.  They can get a QB later on and add a lineman to help protect their next QB.
26. Seahawks - CB Kevin King

With a potential Sherman trade, the Seahawks need help at CB, even if Sherman is not traded.  King would fit in with the Seattle defense.
27. Chiefs - QB Deshaun Watson

Chiefs could be looking for a new QB with Alex Smith being basically a game manager.  The versatile QB can take over when Smith is done in Kansas City.
28. Cowboys - DE Charles Harris

With a solid team already, their defense could use more pass rush help off the edge.  Harris has a high motor that can provide pass rush.
29. Packers - LB T.J. Watt

Packers get another pass rusher to add to the duo of Matthews and Perry.
30. Steelers - TE David Njoku

Jesse James, Ladrius Green, and Antonio Brown make up the WR/TE corps.  Adding Njoku would be a big help to the TE group.  Njoku can be lined up anywhere on the field with helps the WR group as well.
31. Falcons - OG Forrest Lamp

Falcons have a decent O-line, but could use another G to pave the way for Freeman and Coleman.
32. Saints - CB Tre-Davious White

Saints had the worst pass defense in the NFL last year.  White is a solid CB that will help solve their secondary issues.
