The next team for Peyton manning????

Why do people automatically assume he wants to retire a Colt? Or want him to sign those garbage one day contracts. I mean if that's what he wants fine but I won't hold it against him if that's not what he wants either. 

 

I could see him being released then retire afterwards from the NFL in general and not with either team(like Greg Maddux did with the MLB) that way he won't "offend" either fanbase.

I probably won't call him retired until LA, Houston, Denver etc all sign QB's or PM announces he's going to work for Tennessee or Cleveland...

What if he actually says himself he's retiring? Personally I think he will and he made this decision ages ago but decided to wait until the SB hoopla and well the "scandal" blew over before formally announcing it. 

 

That being said I also find it hard to believe that Paige would be the one that knows this before anyone else does.
