He picked Tyrod Taylor who had a nice season for him. It was his defense that was the issue. Went from top 5 to middle of the pack.

They were 9-7 last year and performed better overall. Rex was supposed to come and get them over the hump not have them regress. Those were the expectations and Rex knew this.

He's the head coach now.  He has all kinds of talent on defense and didn't have the defensive unit they expected.  From what I read, he didn't utilize Mario Williams very well.  With his Xs and Os knowledge on defense and the defensive talent they have, they should have been a top 5 defensive unit in nearly every category.  Tyrod Taylor threw for a respectable 3000+ yards and had just 6 INTs all year, as well as being one of the best QBs running the ball.  Their defense was a huge disappointment and I don't think it's crazy to say they're expected to make the playoffs.

But you don't up and say it. Atleast not now. This puts him on the hotseat already, and to make it worse Rex's immediate response was probably O YEAH WELL I PROMISE SB SO YEAH!
