NFL Injuries Thru Week 14

Here's a pretty interesting article on injuries across the league and how they relate to win/loss or playoff contention at the moment.

It looks like the Ravens and Giants have been hit the hardest, which is surprising that the Giants are still in playoff contention because the Ravens are a total mess right now by comparison!

The Pats are third right behind the Ravens and Giants with 167 games lost to injury. Wow. I knew the injury bug hit the Pats hard but didn't realize they were that high. It is stunning that they have 11 wins and were 10-0 with all the injuries they have sustained. Goes to show you the depth of the team that they can sub in that many players and continue to win and be in the drivers seat for the AFC 1 seed.

The depth is called GRONK

Never seen one guy influence the team so much. He is amazing.

He is but he's still just one guy. He's more valuable now because he's one of only two receivers that are worth a darn right now.

It has really been the quiet but effective defense that has kept NE around.

Yeah, is it Matt Patricia, I am beginning to like him more and more as to how he is bringing young guys along. I'd be shocked if he is not on someone's head coaching radar, just like Josh McDaniels.

Without that just one guy, Pats are 0 - 2 this year.

MVP of the Pats.

yes but like I said he's more valuable due to being one of only two capable receivers with Edelman and Lewis out.

While he's obviously outstanding it's more about numbers (of good receivers) at this point. we were 0-2 with zero capable receivers as Amedola was out a short time in that stretch.

No, No, No-  Brady :)  (MVP for NE that is)

They used to have a 10th player award for the Red Sox

Lol how original

Brady won games without Edelman and struggles bad without Gronk.

I mean you want me to show facts or you prefer living in la la land like many in your side ?

No I'll show you facts :)   Brady won with Edelman- you can say struggle all you want but the point is to win.

What is true without Edelman and Gronk and Amedola there was zero credible receivers. You kinda at least need two. In fact Edelman catches more balls because of the position he plays and NE's offense style not counting Gronk often gets double teamed without Edelman.

Gronk is great but it's still about the numbers during the injury time of the receivers.

Gronk is not great, he is the MVP. He not only commands double team, sometimes triple which makes average joes like James White wide open.

You can deny all you want. Pats are 0 - 2 without Gronk this year. I have several games in the past to prove this.

    • Not the same Josh Allen who's now the early odds on favorite to win league MVP this season. Seems like AR's stats are better six games in to start his career as compared to Allen at the same juncture. You can see AR's raw talent that's similar to Allen's who also shared the same narrative coming out about accuracy, touch etc BUT the difference is that the Bills were patient in his development and the overall team got better on a yearly basis.   AR basically missed his rookie season early last year so his growing pains will rear its head as he flashes both good and bad plays. The  receivers aren't making it any easier by having some untimely drive stalling drops so far. AR also doesn't have the luxury of an elite TE as a security blanket but the biggest problem is that most Colt fans are getting restless with the consistent ongoing non factor of the team seemingly on a yearly basis which hasn't been good enough to accomplish anything.   Last season created a false narrative that the team was better than they really were because they barely missed the playoffs after losing the last home game to a very young Texan team led by a rookie qb. So instead of upgrading the talent Ballard chose to run it all back with his mostly mediocre team that still has yet to see any type of sustained success even with the help of a nearly last place schedule a season ago.   Ballard's decision to bring back Gus as dc after finishing 28th in points allowed in back to back seasons is mind blowing! The defense is ranked nearly dead last in run defense and 3rd down efficiency so far this season yet the "great" EJ Speed is barking about the offense. Lol Now off to an 0-2 start the patience for AR's early growth will be slim but on the flip slide Ballard has been given an EIGHT yr pass (record wise) of subpar results.
    • Say what we will.  The only numeric of real meaning is 0-2.
    • The OL is one of the few bright spots of this team this year.  Defense not stopping the run and Shane playcalling having AR throwing 30 times a game is what’s leading to our downfall.
