It would also be worth considering to bring in both Irvin and Junior Galette. Reason being is Galette is coming off an injury and could be signed on a 1 year deal.

If you Google "Junior Galette beach brawl", you'll see what I'm talking about

I like the idea of Galette on a 1yr deal. Don't think he had a history of off the field stuff before the beach incident. Other than that, I think its pretty solid.

Here is a few other Colts I would consider cutting before next season. The cap savings is to the far right. I don`t see any of these players warranting that amount of money IMO.

Mathis I would wait until the end of the year and see how far back he comes ....

 

DQ I think is a wait and see ... How do Irving and Moore come along, who is available in FA, etc ... I would probably be on board with this cut.

 

Butler I would want to see if he comes back to form if used only in Nickel ... but open to cutting if a better option presents itself

 

Cole I am ok with cutting ... right now he is no better than Walden at nearly 2X the price.

I'm leaning offense in free agency and defense in the draft.  Unless Conklin falls to us, I see this draft as being stocked with linebackers. 

 

1.  Eric Striker - trade down for him

2.  Cassanova Mckinzy

3.  Dan Volts

Steven Wisniewski - having a strong year, could get reasonable price

Cordy Glenn - upgrade over Reitz

Jeff Allen OG Cheifs -  backup for Mewhort or Thornton

 

Castonzo Mewhort Wisniewski Thornton Glenn

 

Nothing great, but solid, decent prices, can improve with depth competition

 

Anderson  Parry  Langford

 

Striker  Mckinzy  Irvin  Moore

 

Striker is small, but pure speed with rush talent.

Mckinzy is a big three down backer, a sledgehammer vs the run with good instincts and speed to stay in on 3rd down.

Those guys would be a massive upgrade is speed and playmaking ability.
