Trent Cole $4,250,000 $1,000,000 $2,000,000 $0 $0 $7,250,000   $1,000,000 $6,250,000 D\’Qwell Jackson $5,500,000 $250,000 $0 $0 $0 $5,750,000   $500,000 $5,250,000 Arthur Jones $4,500,000 $1,100,000 $0 $0 $0 $5,600,000   $3,300,000 $2,300,000 Robert Mathis $3,500,000 $0 $1,500,000 $0 $0 $5,000,000   $0 $5,000,000 Erik Walden $4,000,000 $250,000 $0 $0 $0 $4,250,000   $250,000 $4,000,000 Darius Butler $1,500,000 $500,000 $1,000,000 $0 $0 $3,000,000   $500,000 $2,500,000 Nate Irving $2,000,000 $250,000 $500,000 $0 $0 $2,750,000   $500,000 $2,250,000

Here is a few other Colts I would consider cutting before next season. The cap savings is to the far right. I don`t see any of these players warranting that amount of money IMO.

I would probably not cut Walden or Jones ...

Irving has not had enough playing time to decide ...

Irving has not had enough playing time to decide ...

Mathis I would wait until the end of the year and see how far back he comes ....

DQ I think is a wait and see ... How do Irving and Moore come along, who is available in FA, etc ... I would probably be on board with this cut.

Butler I would want to see if he comes back to form if used only in Nickel ... but open to cutting if a better option presents itself

Cole I am ok with cutting ... right now he is no better than Walden at nearly 2X the price.

I'm leaning offense in free agency and defense in the draft.  Unless Conklin falls to us, I see this draft as being stocked with linebackers.

1.  Eric Striker - trade down for him

2.  Cassanova Mckinzy

3.  Dan Volts

FA

Steven Wisniewski - having a strong year, could get reasonable price

Cordy Glenn - upgrade over Reitz

Jeff Allen OG Cheifs -  backup for Mewhort or Thornton

Castonzo Mewhort Wisniewski Thornton Glenn

Nothing great, but solid, decent prices, can improve with depth competition

Anderson  Parry  Langford

Striker  Mckinzy  Irvin  Moore

Striker is small, but pure speed with rush talent.

Mckinzy is a big three down backer, a sledgehammer vs the run with good instincts and speed to stay in on 3rd down.

Those guys would be a massive upgrade is speed and playmaking ability.

    • Every teams prospects can drastically change with a single key injury in preseason OTA’s and/or training camp.
    • Titans will end up in the Cellar, sorry Paul you are wrong and a hater. If you read this, I will bet you a steak dinner the Colts end up with a better record than the Titans! AR is better than Bo Callahan and Taylor is far better than any weapon the Titans have. Paul is just jealous because since the AFC South was created, we have been to 4 AFC Title Games = 2003, 2006, 2009, 2014/2 SB's = 2006, 2009/Won a SB = 2006. By the way C.J. Stroud is talking smack as well, he better remember that the Colts were dominating his team and him in the 1st meeting when AR was healthy. We were up 14-0 at Houston before AR went out. The Texans were a sweet story last year, barely beating us with a backup QB to win the division but guess what, they did their usual losing early in the playoffs. They have 0 AFC Title Game appearances in their 22 seasons of existence, YES, A BIG FAT 0.    When it comes to Jacksonville I can only laugh. It seems like they have picked in the top 5 for the last 20 seasons and have nothing to show for it except 1 AFC Title Game appearance.    Going by history, Colts still are the best team in the AFC South since its invention. Facts hurt! The others have some catching up to do and we haven't been dominant since 2014. We have spotted these other teams 10 seasons, and they still haven't made a SB or win 1.   Since the AFC South was created (2002), Division Championships: Colts 9 Texans 7 Titans 4 Jags 2
