Last Mock w/draft before March 10 (My Dream Scenario)

Recommended Posts

If this happened for the Colts, it would be hard for me to contain my excitement for next season...

Free agency

-Indy resigns S Mike Adams, OT Joe Reitz, S Sergio Brown

-Indy cuts RB Trent Richardson, OG Donald Thomas

-Indy signs OG Todd Herremans, NT Haloti Ngata, SS DaNorris Searcy, WR Andre Johnson

Draft (Again this is my dream scenario so I wanted us to make a few trades)

-Indy trades 2nd for early 3, 4

-Indy trades 2016 4th for 2015 5th

Round 1 Pick 29: Arik Armstead, DE/DT, Oregon (B)
Round 3 Pick 6 (NYJ): Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State (A)
Round 3 Pick 29: D.J. Humphries, OT, Florida (B+)
Round 4 Pick 5 (NYJ): Justin Hardy, WR, East Carolina (A)
Round 4 Pick 29: Henry Anderson, DE, Stanford (C+)
Round 5 Pick 4 (OAK): Stephone Anthony, ILB, Clemson (A)
Round 5 Pick 29: Jacoby Glenn, CB/FS, UCF (A)
Round 6 Pick 29: Deion Barnes, DE, Penn State (D)
Round 6 Pick 31: Ryan Russell, DE, Purdue (C+)
Round 7 Pick 28: Josh Robinson, RB, Mississippi St. (D+)

Our DL would be beastly with Ngata at NT, and a great rotation at DE and DT with Arthur Jones, Arik Armstead, and Henry Anderson. The Colts would have a great WR core with the addition of Andre Johnson for a 2 year contract. And Justin Hardy is a darn good WR in the 4th round. Indy also gets their RB of the future with Ajayi. And they also get a good young ILB to learn for a year in Anthony. Glenn is a nice pickup because he could play nickel or FS. And finally Grigson likes his Big Ten players so he gets a few pass rushers lake.

Kudos on the most unrealistic mock draft I have seen thus far.

 Humphries is a 1st rounder, Ajayi is a 2nd rounder, Hardy is a 2nd, Anderson is probably a 2nd, Anthony is a 2nd.

That's why I said Dream Scenario. This is just how the draft fell when I used the draft app.

It may be a dream scenario,  but it's completely unrealistic.    These computer apps do not have players properly evaluated yet which is why it has them available one to three rounds after they've been long taken.

In short,  what's the point.    Dustin's "dream scenario" makes the point.    It's just not realistic.

    • The Matt Gay hate is a convenient outlet for Chris Ballard hate. Which explains why it's mostly unreasonable.   However, I don't understand why they're putting him out there right now. He's evidently hurt, and he needs some time to get right.
    • Speaking of Baker:   I've been skeptical that Bryce Young can overcome the marks against him, so I'm not exactly waiting for him to turn it on. But I was skeptical about Baker as well, for different reasons. He never looked as ineffective and incapable as Bryce has looked so far, but he's a good example of a player who a) was in a bad situation, and b) still had to get better at QBing.
    • Well, I thought the Olubi kid showed some solid play making ability with good tackling so i'm surprised they pushed rookie Carlies, who missed a fair amount of time, ahead of him so quickly. So one could say the position has been addressed by drafting a LB each of the last 2 seasons with guys our people like.  Carlies did play 46 snaps Sunday. Like our other Gus led LB's he didn't seem to be where he needed to be when needed. But what the hey, that becomes much more likely when you have 2-3 seasons under your belt, With a d-line playing well in front of you.     It wouldn't surprise me at all if Williams throws for 250+ with 3 touchdowns. The little devil on my shoulder tells me it would be a good thing, just another nail in Gus's coffin. And of course that is a sad place to be. lol
    • If the past two seasons have shown anything, it's that you can never fully write off a QB based off of limited information. The NFL journey can be a long one.    Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold... All written off as failures just a few years ago.    @Superman and I have spoken for years on how the surrounding organization plays as much of a role in the success of a QB as traits and abilities.
    • Flutie had a great career.  He was awesome in the CFL.  Maybe that's what Young should do for a year or two.
