Right I was looking at our team last night and identified the remaining holes. After the signing of Jackson, the tenders offered to Gordy, Reitz and Johnson and the release of Satele I'm thinking  and guessing our cap is just over $36 million.

Vontae Davis 5 years $40 million ( Brent Grimes numbers)

Ahmad Bradshaw?Donald Brown 3 years $9 million

Pat McAfee 5 years $12.5 million

Adam Vinatieri 2 years $4 million

Sergio Brown 4 years $4.8 million

 

Remaining Cap: $19.3 million

Signings:

Arthur Jones 4 years $24 million

Evan Dietrich Smith 4 years $20 million

Jon Asamoah 4 years $12 million

 

$5.3 million left over for the draft:

2nd round: Jarvis Landry WR

3rd round: Dion Bailey S

5th round: Philip Gaines CB

6th round: Colt Lyerla TE

7th round: James Gayle DE

 

Decided to get much younger on the D side.

I like the draft, Maybe I'd go with a pass rusher in the 2nd though but like Landry. Dont think Gaines lasts to the bottom of the 5th, Rather go ILB in the 6th or 7th and Scat Back with whichever round we dont between those two that we dont go ILB, which means no to Donald Brown, Glad many people came around on him and got to see how good he can be if healthy....even with a crap interior O Line but we can get younger and cheaper there and get the same production

More pressing needs than a TE so other than that good mock draft and I think Landry is gone before the colts pick.

We won't resign Donald Brown.. He will command too much money.. And if we resign Bradshaw he won't be signed for anything longer then a one year prove it contract.. He will be our third string back.. So he will probably make under two million per season.

I've actually seen Landry fall to mid to late 3rd after his combine. Doubt it happens. I'd rather take a pass rusher in the 2nd. I don't see why we spend a draft pick on Lyerla with 2 good ones on the team. Looks like a Coby Fleener clone.

I really like your free agency decisions. I think the Vontae Davis contract is fair. I like Arthur Jones, and I like Jon Asamoah.

 

As far as the draft, if we go receiver I would rather go for Donte Moncrief from Ole Miss. Great size and speed. I think he would pair nicely with TY Hilton. As far as a free safety in the 3rd round, I would look at Antone Exum from Virginia Tech.

 

Philip Gaines could be interesting though.

So far so good, way off with cap numbers and have lost out on Asamoah but definitely can find someone similar. Get the C too and then draft a WR,S and NT.
