Indyfan4life
Free agent DE Dwight Freeney is visiting the Patriots Friday.Freeney isn't just going to sit around and wait for the Broncos to finish their standoff with Elvis Dumervil. He'd be an excellent fit in New England, where Bill Belichick always seems to be getting the most out of inexpensive superstars past their prime. Former Falcons pass-rusher John Abraham, who is also visiting the Patriots Friday, fits the bill as well. New England ranked 15th in the league last year with 37 sacks. husker61
how does freeney fit with a 3-4 defense??? the market is showing what i have been saying for a while, freeney isn't that good any more. he is going to have a very hard time finding a team willing to pay him anything close to what he has made in the past. i think he may retire before playing for as little money as i think he will be offered. he has already made a boatload of money. he may end up on nfl network. theanarchist
So lets pounce before they do.... Realistically I suppose we couldn't afford Dumervil at this point. But I would take him in a heartbeat if we have the $any pat fan would want him as do bronco fans
IndyD4U
With Freeney reportedly seeking 6 million per year from Denver he'll remain a free agent until he comes to grips with reality. A 33 year old DE will never earn that kind of money.

A 33 year old DE will never earn that kind of money. I do think a contract giving him $5 mil. per year might get him in the door in Denver for a 1 or 2 yr. deal. Denver has been doling out short term contracts because they are obviously working with Peyton in the short term. Pats or Ravens dont operate that way and that is why I still think he ends up in Denver unless a team like the Giants come in and get him.
